Makes sense.

Especially the last sentence. I'm feelin' it. Who's with me?

Can everyone just acknowledge that bigbob is a troll account or alias or whatever that's trying to "prove" that you can be as offensive as you want as a so-called "good poster" or "happy clapper" or whatever and stop responding to him. Or ban him and make him happy. Or whatever.

Just go get a good Assistant or 2, someone like a Randy Livingston or a guy like that, someone like Buzz Braman wouldn't hurt either...But get a good or better X and O's Assistant who is also a player developer and skills trainer with Lots of Connections and Friendships should be a must.....Some pretty good ones in the D-league or on NBA benches, or guys like Randy Livingston out there who would listen if asked.....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Yep - and it wasn't just Skal locally either.

Stokes, JW3, Cam Payne, Leron Black, Chris Chiozza, etc.

Like I've always said, if you don't sign a locally ranked kid, you need to sign an equal talent from outside the city to make up for it - like Cal did when he signed Anthony Rice instead of haggling with Earnest Shelton. On the flip side, Cal didn't have a suitable substitute signing for Thad Young, so that was a bad recruiting miss.

The other problem is that when Pastner actually did that - decided to take Pookie Powell over Cam Payne - the player he chose didn't work out for whatever reason.

It's not like it's been all bad - in hindsight, Joe was obviously a much better decision than Chris Jones.

Still, it's been sliding locally under his tenure.

Ten years to flourish? Really the most inane and intellectually vacuous comment and line of thought.

To wit:
1. Top 10 in wins in 1st 6 yrs as head coach
2. Tied with Calipari for number of wins in 1st 6 years at Memphis
3. Has won 75% of his games
4. 4 NCAAs in the 5 years for which he's accountable

Flourish?

Brain damaged criticism.

What was the attendance in Cal's sixth year vs JP's sixth year? I think I saw this not long ago, but did not do that comparison.

we could not sign stokes mid year, JW3 is bailing on his school, no major schools wanted Cam, Black isn't a superstar, let's see how Chris turns out. Outside of how Cam surprised everyone we would have people on this board complaint about those guys underperforming if they had the same states here. Stokes doesn't count because we couldn't sign him.

What was Cal's recruiting like going into years 7 and 8 versus JP's?
