Exclamation Potential AAC Bowl Game in Austin?
Austin's a nice town to have a bowl game. I suspect the AAC is gathering options for a western bowl game. Anywhoo, here's the article:

We are kind of getting the carriage before the horse. We need to win the conference first and then worry about where the bowl game will be played. I love Austin, other than the traffic which is getting as bad as Houston and Dallas.

I loved Austin better 45 years ago when it was smaller than Little Rock.

Pitted against whom? I'd like to see us against either a Big 12 school, or Mountain West....maybe even a Pac school.

That's a huge stadium, a crowd of 50,000 would be half full/empty.

Nice trip for me though!

Yep...I'd take a drink to that at The Oasis... it was a better place then.

I went to Austin on business, and spent 4 weeks there a few years back. I stayed at the Omni; 2 blocks away from 6th Street; got in cozy with the staff and they let me have a key to the rooftop pool after hours. I love Austin, I had a blast.

I'll bet that is a pretty good gig. The hotel has really nice amenities and everyone I met was friendly. It's a dynamic demographic and people are from all over the US.

Austin is one of the 4 or 5 US cities I would live in.

Live in Leander, traffic gets worse everyday on 183 and Mopac. would be a great place for bowl game, ride the train home. 04-cheers

A good friend of mine and U of M grad used to live in the Domain. Right above the Subway. LOL

I was in town for a wedding and stayed with a buddy in Lago Vista. 183 was a joke. I moved only 3 years ago but it seems to get worse every day.

I used to stay at the Driskill Hotel years ago. It probably doesn't have the amenities of the Omni, but it makes up for it in history and style.

For years, Lady Bird Johnson kept a suite there.

Even 183A toll road is getting bad. I am off Nameless Rd. just north of 1431.
