This is a win. C-USA gets an after Christmas game against the MWC while the AAC is playing in two more games versus the Sunbelt. Those slots against the Sunbelt are no-win.

Yeah, who would want to play a team like the Cajuns in front of 50,000 in New Orleans. Stupid.

So it's better when it's your first bowl in school history or when you're playing Tulane in New Orleans. 34,014 last time.

What does it matter? The numbers speak for themselves. Nevada was a tough draw because of the early starting time and the issue of accomodations because of the Saints game that followed. I have long felt that a well scheduled match up with Rice would draw very well in the New Orleans Bowl because of the ease of travel for their fans. I would expect numbers similar to the Tulane game.

The saints game on Sunday had nothing to do with it. Your people either came Friday and left Saturday or came and left Saturday. I was there Saturday afternoon and there wasn't a ULL fan in sight.

Okay, you win. The Cajuns have not drawn the four largest crowds in New Orleans Bowl history (with attendance in that bowl usually ranking it in the top 15 of all bowl games) and the bowl, the city, and the Sunbelt opponent all suck.

I've been to a 'Boys vs Cardinals game in Phoenix in December (before the Domed stadium) and it was miserable temperature-wise. I hope it's a night game, that might help. 03-wink

It's hard to proclaim your dominance over the rest of the G5, when you keep getting whipped by the Sunbelt in New Orleans, which is the message I intended. Sunbelt has been tough on C-USA in New Orleans! I think Arkansas State will be a very difficult opponent for anyone in Little Rock, too.

Tucson > Little Rock

Plus this opens up the door for NMSU05-stirthepot

If we lose and replace UAB...that's where we need to go...fits the west and probably the best basketball program we can get.

New Orleans is great. I go there frequently during football season. If it were anyone other than the belt or Mac, I'd like the New Orleans bowl.

Won't complain about more bowl games. That is great news and the MWC is a great opponent.

So what are the primary and secondary bowls we have now?

I just want to know the bowls but if someone wants to provide the conference we face, that would be great too!

Bowl games have become the equivalent of getting a gold star in grade school just because you tried.

I like watching my team play so till 8 win teams are not left out there are not enough games. And before anyone bring up 6-6 P5 schools as proof there's too many...

that a totally different topic

Winning 7 or 8 games is a little more than getting a gold star for trying and unless there's rules put into place to stop a 6 win P5 getting a bowl game while that 7 or 8 win team is sitting at home...

there's not enough

Much rather be at a football game sweating at the end of Dec than freezing so I will take this new bowl over Little Rock Ark any day

I personally love bowl games. Its really the only time of year that I can sit around and watch games that are sorta important. Take the godaddy.com bowl last year. I had never seen South Alabama or Bowling Green play all year, but they played a great game and I enjoyed it. The HOD bowl was the first bowl game out of state that I was able to attend, and I wouldn't have traded the experience for the world. Are their too many?? Probably, but there are also too many FBS schools too so its a trade off.

Well, since you are new to FBS ODU, it more of a power play by the P5.

Good bowl game for CUSA.

As for the Little Rock bowl, this is the 9th bowl annually for the AAC. For example, here is the AAC 2016 bowl lineup (for 12 teams).

2016 Season

1) Birmingham Bowl Birmingham, Ala. – vs. SEC

2) Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl St. Petersburg, Fla. – vs. ACC

3) Miami Beach Bowl Miami, Fla. – vs. MAC

4) Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman Annapolis, Md. – vs. ACC

5) Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl Fort Worth, Texas – vs. Big 12

6) Bahamas Bowl Nassau Bahamas – vs. MAC

7) Boca Raton Bowl Boca Raton, Fla. – vs. Conference USA

8) Cure Bowl Orlando, Fla. – vs. Sun Belt

9) Little Rock Bowl Little Rock, AR - vs. Sun Belt

This also does not include the 3 backup ties the AAC has.

The new bowl line-ups are going to be more difficult to keep track of and more fluid than in the past. We are in the Hawaii Bowl some years but not others. In the New Orleans Bowl some years but not others. In the Miami and St Pete Bowls some years and not others.

Here is the list for 2015 with the new Arizona Bowl added by me:

Conference USA 2015 bowl lineup

Arizona Bowl, Tucson, vs MWC

Bahamas Bowl, Nassau, Bahamas, vs MAC

Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl, St. Petersburg, Fla., vs AAC

Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Albuquerque, N.M., vs MWC

Heart of Dallas Bowl, Dallas, Texas, vs Big 12

Miami Beach Bowl, Miami, Fla., vs AAC

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, New Orleans, La., vs SBC

Secondary agreement with Duck Commander Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La., date TBA

So our bowl opponents for this coming season are:

1 Big 12
2 MWC
2 AAC
1 MAC
1 SBC

bowl lineup

I assume the Boca Raton bowl is ours in some years and rotates just like the Miami one? Better not lose that considering my school is the one hosting it and they are in fricken CUSA..

How does CUSA now own the Boca Raton bowl instead of the MAC? It is played on our campus so I dont get this?

So do the AAC and CUSA just trade this every other year?

Again I dont know how Florida Atlantic's conference doesnt own a bowl hosted in our on campus stadium.
