Only Kansas has ever done anything in basketball there. Besides them they are basically mid majors

A lot of great talent has come out of the B12, but outside of Kansas not a lot of consistent tourney success

UTEP (Texas Western) is the only school in Texas to have ever won a national championship in Men's Basketball

All but one in other leagues, subject is kind of irrelevant.

Well if the ACC can count Syracuse's and Louisville's, then we can count UC and UConn's.

The Dance is such a crapshoot though, I wonder what Final Fours would look like by comparison. And even then, it's still a crapshoot. Kansas has been upset at least seven times by teams seeded drastically lower than them in the last 20 years, doesn't mean they weren't the cream of the crop most years.

The American Athletic Conference is the SAME business entity, under the same bylaws, that was known as the BIG EAST from 1981-2013 and merely changed its name on July 1st, 2013... So ALL four of UConn's Men's Championships have happened in the same conference.

You mean Mexico del Media. And yes I'm bitter about Phi Slama Jama not hitting their free throws against NC State and Georgetown (before I was born but I digress), so sue me.

With that logic CUSA will count Texas Western ( now UTEP)!

The old BE is the AAC so actually every BE title ever goes to AAC. the current BE is a new conf. Cuse title is a AAC title.

"Technically" the old Big East is the American. Problem is, the casual fan considers the current Big East as the real Big East going forward. There is a lot of power in a name. Its obviously to late now but you guys shouldn't have given in so easy on the naming rights of the league. Losing the name "Big East" was the biggest blow that could have happened.

Losing the name wasn't good, and it absolutely hurt our name recognition, but it is far from 'the biggest blow that could have happened'.

The old Big East was known as one of the best BB conferences among the P-6. To keep that name and have the public constantly compare the new teams with that history would have been devastating, IMO. Every time the media now speaks about the new Big East (except for Fox Sports), they tell how much it is a shell of its former self. The new Big East has to carry that load and then is not even mentioned in the off season. I am glad the AAC took the money and ran off to build a better brand. Next year bodes well in BB for the AAC with UC, UConn, SMU, Temple, and maybe Tulsa.
