MyBB Josh to TN?
I have NO insider info. Just a thought. With the issues that UTK has had with coaches and the NCAA, do you think they would come for Josh with his squeaky clean image and propensity for graduating players and making the NCAAs three out of last four years? Just a thought.

He hasn't fallen that far even among his harshest critics.

If they are more concerned with their image then they are with winning I can see them doing this

If Josh goes their he will have to add more than 6 transfers within the last year to his list.. That list would probably double and then we might get a few here, otherwise we won't!!

RE: Josh to TN?
NO SCHOOLS will be coming after Josh. Graduating players and following the rules are both important. But, realistically, they only comprise about 25% of the qualities that schools seek in a coach. Josh has proven himself to be pretty ineffective as a motivator, bench coach, player developer, and communicator. Plus, any potential suitors would have to pay for some/all of the buyout built into his bloated, unmerited contract (he's done a good job of picking an agent). I would love for some school to "steal" Josh away from us but it's not happening. If you were an AD and you could afford the buyout plus 2.65M a year, would you spend that on Josh Pastner?

RE: Josh to TN?
Following this immediate last season, it is not likely at the moment that other schools would look at Pastner.

Even though most ADs use more reason and less dripping Internet high five seeking mockery, so see a bigger picture rather than just over reacting to an injury addled difficult rebuilding year, they also understand that in the current climate, their fanbase would likely utilize the same gutter sad mentality that we see here.

Next year, when Memphis is likely back in the tournament and likely wins some games...although we never know but Nichols and company should be much better right out of the box...climate will be such where folks will realize he could be a good move.

UT is a step down from Memphis. Doesn't matter how things are going on right now or in recent years here in Memphis, in 'general' and historically the Memphis program is light years better than Knoxville for any coach if they have to decide between the two

RE: Josh to TN?
Memphis is a much better job than Utk.

I would argue that after the swill this season, should our coach have another successful season, if any solid opportunity arises he should take it.

Then people will spin that he cannot take the heat, after the heat they gave was that he was a clown, terrible, should leave, and a plethora more. Sure, tune stuff out. But it has happened before and will happen again.

If schools come after Pastner, the buyout may not even be enforced if it impedes their hiring of him.

Every team has injuries that's why it's called a team it's not a one man sport but to your point we struggled with Austin in the line up so to act like we were setting the world on fire until Austin got hurt is disingenuous. We struggle regardless the injury thing is a convenient excuse. We would have underachieved with or without him. We lost all the time with the best backcourt on paper in America. Could u imagine what Pitino of Shaka could have done with that backcourt we had, would have loved to seen those guys reach their potential and play for a competent coach. We could have been scary good. Look how bad Pitinos team is this year and he still makes elite eight same with Izzo those guys just know how to win and goes to show you how much coaching matters on college level. If u look at elite eight all are hall of fame coaches or future hall of famers even Mike Brey is a hell of a coach.

RE: Josh to TN?
With all the coaching openings that have come up, I've only heard Josh's name once. And he is like the 3rd or 4th choice for them (ASU). Supposedly this gold-plated, insane contract he currently has was drive by USC being serious about coming after him a couple seasons ago. I have no idea if that's true, but heard it a few times.

With that thread title saying that you "have NO insider info" is a bit redundant.
