Weird how that sounds just like an ECU basketball post.

Its just restlessness.

Seriously?

He does it in support of UAB.
Pirate baseball will get back on track and will be really good in a couple of seasons. One thing about the American in baseball there are a lot of good programs and not many if any bottom feeders. We may not have the most schools playing but the ones that are do put good talent on the field. Watch out for the American in the regionals and college world series this year. (Wish we had Rice for baseball only!)

What most of you guys don't realize is that most of the fanbase wanted Billy gone a good 2-3 seasons ago. Because we kept him around we have the worst roster we've ever had and have over excelled to an extent this season. Give Cliff a couple recruiting classes and I think we finally reach Omaha.

In the dictionary under "backhanded compliment," there should be a picture of this post. 03-lmfao

Not at all, 35-38 wins and hoping for regional doesn't cut it here. 42+ and in the to host regionals and Super Refionals is the standard we expect. That is why we changed coaches, though should have done it 2 years ago. No this years team is no where near the level we want and demand to have have as standard. Look at the years under Kieth LeClair and Randy Mazey, that is the standard.

KL, 5 years 212-96-1, 4 regionals, one Super Regional, 2002 ECU was the #6 national seed and hosted the Wilson Regional and Kinston Super, ranked 4 years

RM, 3 years 120-66-1, 3 regionals, 1 Super, host the 2004 Kinston Regional, lost the Super to South Carolina in Columbia ranked 3 years

The 7 years since, 5 regionals, one host, 1 Super, no Super host. Ranked 3 times

Billy Godwin has the worst winning % of any ECU HC since 1979 and has the 3rd worst winning % at ECU all time. And the only one to coach here more than 3 years had have winning % lower than 640.

We are in a rebuild mode. That isn't to take away from Memphis and their wins, they did what they needed to do this weekend, we didn't.

After all that, I stand by my original comment, lol.

When a team wins a series from you, not just a game, something like, "Nice series" or "Congrats" or "You were the better team, but we'll get you next time," would suffice.

Rather than a 6-page explanation of why this was your worst team since the Middle Ages, and how you're all so frustrated.

Seriously, the original response, plus your comments, just prove that you guys really don't get it. That wasn't a compliment in any way, shape or form. It was a novella of excuses. Classic.

Check out this thread for hints on proper etiquette, lol.

2002 and 2004 was why we have the new stadium. We got tired of having to play in Kinston/Grainger Stadium and a decade late so did the K-Tribe.

Kinston leadership is squarely to blame for not having any type of baseball now. They could've easily built a state of the art stadium either by Walmart or LCC/HWY 70 while also setting off a chunk of games for the historic stadium (a yearly fourth of July game with fireworks display would be part of the chunk). Then help supplement Grainger Stadium with the freedom classic and a deal with LCC, PCC, ECU, and the local high schools to have them play various games there.

The minor league team gets the state of the art stadium they want and the town and residents can keep the history of Grainger stadium alive.
