Regardless of what happens with ULL and ULM...
has this really been all that bad of a basketball postseason for the league between Georgia State, ULL, ULM, and UALR's women?

Maybe I'm just used to being in the SoCon but I'm not sure I see anything that shows basketball is somehow in dire straights.

Imo, if our coach doesn't improve Troy to atleast 5th in conference he will be let go... It will be his 3rd year as coach and anything less than 5th will be looked at as no improvement over a 3 year span.

No reason why we can't recruit quality players and get more wins with the facility we have had since 2012.

The MAC was a top-10 RPI league this year by most accounts, ranked above the MVC.

Let that sink in for a while, and remember it the next time you think the SBC is an OK league.

The SBC is not a serious athletic conference.

There are select schools within the SBC that can compete nationally but no...the SBC as a whole does not seem to be a serious athletic conference. The MAC?!

I'm so tired of reading you guys' negative posts. Women's basketball is solid. Baseball and softball are top 10. Football was the best G5 last year.

Sometimes I just want to say STFU!

Womens basketball is actually worse than the men. It is stronger at the top, but the bottom is horrendous. Last time I checked it was ranked 29th of 32.

Lets be clear here...if the SBC isnt a serious athletic conference, neither is the MAC. They just have better basketball because they are in an area of the country where basketball is valued more.

Oh, and we got more NCAA Units than the MAC did this year.

I can think of one SBC basketball program with a little Midwestern flavor... 04-rock

I think 29 was last year. We had something like 5 Top 150 RPI teams this year in Women's play. Two Top 50. Georgia Southern and South Alabama were uniquely horrible, yes, but they didn't bring down the league that much.

I call BS here.

UALR 1-1 in NCAA tourney
stAte 1-1 in WNIT
CAJUNS 2-0 in WBI
Texas St 0-1 in WBI
Troy 0-1 in WBI

There's no way the 29th conference gets five teams in postseason play. One team ranked near the top will send a conference in the mid-20's if, and the way the RPI formula works is that if is almost impossible, it is in the top 100 and everyone else is in the '200's. To have five teams selected to postseason play means many teams in the top 150-200. Just no way the SBC is 29th.

EDIT: I see others have already debunked it. Bottomline is the B-itching on this board about the quality of the SBC and the commish is getting unbearable.

And the SBC is lightyear's ahead of the MAC in baseball and softball.

And ultimately, the MAC was still a one-bid league and went 0-1 in the NCAA tournament.

I think you may be correct. We still have a way to go to get back to 2007, but it is better this year than in the recent past.

And we fired our women s coach. No replacement has been named yet. So hopefully going forward our women s program will be better. We were awful this year though.

Really ...a light year? Kent State did make the College World Series in '12. Total respect for the Sun Belt but don't remember seeing them there recently...were they?
