Memphis State barely misses achieving its first national title in basketball, losing to the Bradley Braves 84-83.

Aw, come on now. For all of us who aren't familiar, you have to tell the tale.

I always heard Elvis met the team at the airport. I've wondered if that was truth or myth.

Temple winning the first NIT in 1938 should be counted as "National Champ"

that was the first season for both the NCAA and NIT tournaments...NIT was by far more prestigious.

Before my time but some of the old timers claimed we had a one pt lead and the ball and Bradley was trying to foul yet the refs called us for charging.

There was once a rumor that Jack Eaton went to one of the refs and said "Thats the worst call I've ever seen" The ref replied "well we weren't going to let a rinky dink school like MEMPHIS STATE win the NIT"

Of course later I heard that Big Jack wasn't the voice in 57 so who knows
