(03-25-2015 10:20 AM)usm99 Wrote:  It might have been said already and if so I missed it but after USM won at home Sunday vs TCU, USM was saying that hosting the 3rd round would depend on amount of presold tickets in next few hours after the game. The TCU game ended around 4:10 PM and around 8 PM or so that night it was annouced USM would be hosting Eastern Michigan. I'm not sure if it had more to do with Eastern Michigan (our 3rd round opponent) winning instead of Tulsa or if presold tickets were that good. For our 2nd round game vs TCU attendance was around 1700-1800 I believe. Hopefully with presold tickets immediately after the TCU game and walk ups tonight attendance will be close/over 2k. I've got 5 coming with me.

I am confused at how or why that statement got out in public of we had to have x number to host. There is no attendance requirement. This venture is strictly a bid process. Our ad promised JLM immediately after the conf final he would do everything he could to keep our girls on their home floor the entire tournament. Despite the dislike of him by the chris mcdaniels supporters Opps i mean hammond camp. He has full filled his promise.

I do know that during the second half of Sundays game he was already on the phone and had the next round secured before the tulsa-emu game tipped off.

Should we win tonight the next round is interesting. We have to either outbid a deep pocketed sec program or a big 10 program who has proven they will write a check to stay home.

It's possible. MT outbid Ole Miss, but then again we average 4x what they do.

You have a different situation here. Father/son matchup. If they play anyone else you may see the sec warchest come into play. FWIW ole miss did have the lowest attendance in the sec.

Great win by the Lady Eagles. Great crowd, 2,937 in attendance. Which is really good for a USM women's game.

Again, I heard we needed at least 3,000 in attendance to have a shot at hosting the next game. We came super close. Will play the winner of Michigan vs Mizzou.

RE: WNIT Round 2
USM was passing out flyers tonight BEFORE the game that stated IF you buy season tickets for NEXT year during this current WNIT run, then you would get any home game WNIT tickets at no charge. After the game I heard them say this offer was valid until 5 pm Thursday. I'm planning now to buy 3 season tickets tomorrow (Thursday) for next season. Season tickets promo is $50 so with it possibly comes 3 tickets to any remaining home WNIT games at no extra charge. Hopefully this helps get us the Elite 8 home game vs Michigan or Missouri as early as Saturday but surely Monday at the latest

I don't do women's sports....I just don't enjoy it....and I have a daughter...

having said that, 4th street was jammed last night....

kudos to the 'chickadees' and those that attended....

it was impressive to see that 'traffic'.....

Your season tickets are $50?!? Wowsers. I spend more than that on a single game just to get my family INTO a Lady Raider basketball game. Our season tickets are more than $120.

Wish MT would do more specials like this. The crowds could really explode from their current levels.

Okay...

USM is running a "promo" for $50 season tickets??? Wowsers. I spend more than that on a single game just to get my family INTO a Lady Raider basketball game. Our "regular" season tickets are more than $120.

We really need to win tonight's game. From what I've heard, we'll have a very large crowd in the Murphy Center... and if we win, the next round could eclipse 10,000, depending on what we see tonight.

RE: WNIT Round 2
Correct...the PROMO from what I can tell started shortly before Wednesday's game and last until 5:00 PM CST today (Thursday). They also have a PROMO family ticket plan which is 2 adults and 2 children for $100. This includes "free" tickets to any possible WNIT games remaining....so if you buy the family plan PROMO for next year's season tickets it's possible to get quite the deal IF we keep on winning AND hosting. Right now tickets for WNIT games are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. With 3 possible games (assuming we continue to win and host) a family of 4 would cost $90 total (for 3 possible home games) IF we make the championship game.

REALLY hope MT Tickets Office does something like this if we win tonight -- would be a good way to get additional ticket sales for next year. Also from what I've seen on DNJ newspaper and Twitter the crowd should be phenomenal for our game tonight. Had around 3,000 for first two rounds, I hope it's at least double - maybe triple - that.

RE: WNIT Round 2
As far as attendance goes.....I was a little surpised when doing a little research to see what USM's chances "might" be for hosting the Elite 8. I looked at the Tulsa vs Eastern Michigan game that Tulsa hosted since we ended up hosting the winner of that game. I was a little surprised to see attendance for the game was 324. Looking ahead to tonight's Michigan-Missouri game, Mizzou will be playing their 3rd straight road WNIT game so no home games. For Michigan's 1 home game (2nd game was on the road) they had 1,028. Hopefully that number repeats tonight to help USM's chances of another home game.

I was surprised that Tulsa had that few. They used to lead cusa in attendance. It was always them or utep at the top.
