That is the way I have always seen it. The poor just got more money but the middle class didn't. Yet the price for everything just went up. So yet again it would mean less money in my pockets.

What will happen is that other industries that are accustomed to making 1.4 x minimum wage (or what have you) will now want new wages based on the new minimum wage.

When that doesn't happen, workers will leave Seattle and the city will lose some of its tax base.

They'll bring their tax dollars and experienced labor as well. Let's not act like new residents are the "bad guys" here.
