The hard work and determination have paid off for him. Great to hear and see a good guy getting rewarded.

Proud of you, Joe! 04-cheers

RE: Reitz signs extension with Colts
Some guy on Mlive said, one more contract and you're set for life.

9 million after taxes is going to leave him about 5 million. If he lived to age 90 that would give him a 100k a year for the rest of life, even if he didn't invest, which I'm sure he would/does. I'd say he's set for life if he can play the length of this three year contract. It's not Greg Jennings money but then Olinemen tend to have much longer careers than skill position players. Potentially he could play six more years.

ESPN 30 for 30 did a show on football players who are broke. Guys like Rison and Sapp had made 50 million or more and went broke. One guy had 9 child support payments by 9 different moms. The NFL should insist on deferring a portion of their wages into an annuity so some of these guys don't end up completely broke later in life.

Rietz is a great people person. Retire at 36, open up a sports bar in Kalamazoo, I think he could build an empire on name recognition and charm alone.

The player's union would never agree to that, but something needs to be done. There is no good reason for someone who earned millions in the prime of life to end up living on the tax payer's dime later in life.
