Top 5 AAC Expansion Candidates
I know this has probably already been posted but I couldn't find anything on here. I wanted to hear from the fans of AAC schools who they think are the top 5 (realistic) AAC expansion candidates?

I would think Marshall has to be on that list. Marshall has a national brand. A good football program. Provides the conference with another school in the Temple, UConn general region. And a presence for the new 'cold weather' bowl (the AAC is reported to be in discussions with the New England Patriots.)

Careful. You might get the hopes up for the marshall fans that don't understand sarcasm.

I'm personally holding out for the NJ Blue Devils. Get that NYC media market and Coach K is out of this world.

I'm not convinced the Marshall football players' ankle bracelets would react well with the cold up in New England, anyway. That's only if they could get work release for good behavior.

Not sarcasm in the least. If the AAC were to expand for some reason I think Marshall would certainly be a candidate. Sorry BYU and Boise ain't coming.

Marshall is in cough superior conference. Why would they want to leave for the AAC?

That's because CUSA is so much better than the AAC and makes nearly as much money. They'd never leave that for us.

You don't think people around the country know who Marshall is? For one of the G5s they're one of the better known programs.

RE: Top 5 AAC Expansion Candidates
You don't have a clue what "national brand" is if you think that's true. There aren't any true "national brands" within the G5 except for maybe Boise State Navy, and UConn (mostly b/c of their basketball).

Yes they would...long term the AAC has a much better TV earnings outlook.
