ASU/UTA baseball series moved to Jackson MS
Because of the heavy snow currently turning Arkansas into one white frozen tundra. Single Game Saturday at 7pm DH on Sunday at 1pm

Series will be played at NAIA Belhaven College, Alma Mater of soon to be former ASU Coach John Brady

For the record, our baseball team has not practice outside in 2 and a half weeks, and since we don't have an indoor facility yet, it essentially means we're not practicing

Does the Sun Belt have the same make up rules as the Southern Conference for baseball?

In the SoCon you could not finish a series on Monday-- if you didn't get 3 games in by end of Sunday you couldn't play Monday. Also the SoCon prohibited more than 2 games in 1 day so if Friday and Saturday got rained/snowed out all you could hope to play was a DH on Sunday.

That's tough for both squads . . . Not to mention the fans . . . Hope y'all get 'em in.

SBC rules say you cannot finish a series Monday. You also cannot play more than Twice in a day, however, Suspended games do not apply, so in theory if you play 2 innings of a game, you could finish 7 innings the next day, and THEN play a DH. At least thats the way it was explained to me last year.

Also, the first game of a series must go 9 full innings, so if you do get rained out Friday Saturday, the first game Sunday must go 9. That also means that a game must be suspended, and cannot be called off with a team ahead after 6 or 7 innings because of rain. The only exception is if the entire series is wiped, you could consider the first game official if it goes at least 5 innings, provided the conference approves.

All Sunday League games have a 10 run mercy rule after 7 innings. There are no curfews on Sunday UNLESS the team is flying commercially. Than there is an agreed upon curfew before the game.

We should play, Weather looks good. it just sucks for our fans. We haven't played at home since Valentines day, and we actually have a good team this year.

I guess if there is good news, it's better for our RPI now that this is a neutral site series.

SoCon had a Sunday curfew time of (I believe) 5 pm ET. One year App State and Western Carolina finished tied after 11 innings (after splitting the first two games). WCU had a three-hour bus ride home so they could have played longer, but nope, conference rules.

Yeah, a lot of league's establish a set Sunday Curfew so it's completely fair to the teams that have to fly. That's the downside of the SBC system, we've had team's who have lost league titles before because of a tie game in a curfew situation.

We'll see a few more curfews this year. A lot of teams will have to fly to Statesboro.

Yeah, but it made no sense for the SoCon as the entire league was bus-able. Even Samford bussed most places.
