I assume only the top 12 teams will play? I know we have 14 in the conference so that means that southern miss and the last place team will stay home?

"Just about" is very true. MT has a tendency to choke at the last second but we've been getting better each game. I think we could have a shot to win a few games...

None of the brackets show the seeds. Do the higher seeds typically play the earlier games or the later games?

Here's last year's bracket, if they follow the same type of schedule. We just won't have that opening slate of games this year since only 12 are going.

I thought I read/heard somewhere that they let the host team play in the primetime spots to help attendance. I could be trippin'.

Also, interesting looking at last year the top 4 seeds were in the semi's. I don't think we'll see that this year. A few of the 2nd tier teams have been playing well of late and I think at least on of the top seeds gets knocked out.

They'll do all they can to have the host team play in the prime time spot. If UAB remains in the top 4, you can pretty much guarantee they'll get the 6pm or 8:30pm game on Thursday.

Last year - no.1 seed only had less than 12 hours of rest between semi and final games.

This year the champ game is on Saturday at 2:30pm CT on FS1. That should make it much easier on the last team playing on Friday. Also, the Friday semi-finals are a bit earlier on CBSSN.

Seems all the games are televised this year so thats a plus.

That's true they typically bracket the conference around the home teams seed. The home team usually plays in the 1st game of evening sessions in the early rounds.

That's good to hear. I was really being sarcastic but it did seem in years past that our championship game was always on Sunday morning when most people are in church or waking up. Horrible time slots in the past and as mentioned before, not a lot of recovery time from previous game.

I think one of UTEP/UAB/ODU/LA TECH will win it, but I completely agree that at least one of them will get knocked out early.

I've been really pleased with ASN's coverage. I've watched a ton more non-UAB games this year. I hope they stick around.
