MyBB 3 women's bball teams in postseason?
The top three teams in the Sun Belt in women's basketball are starting to get some attention for the post season. Here are the current RPI's for the teams with a shot at the post season:

#37 UALR
#47 Arkansas State
#108 Troy

UALR has good wins over #71 LSU, #21 Oklahoma, #47 Arkansas State and #108 Troy.

ASU has good wins over #19 UT-Chatanooga, #37 UALR, and two wins over #108 Troy.

Troy has good wins over #37 UALR and OVC-East champion Tennessee State.

What are your thoughts on what might happen with these teams??

I rarely think about women's basketball.

I think UALR and AState are locks for some sort of postseason provided they don't collapse at the end here. Troy is a possibility, but they are borderline WNIT right now I imagine.

I don't keep up with women's basketball (don't hate me CatMom) but would love if 3 SBC schools made it.

If a team from the SBC has an rpi over 50, they will not get a an at large bid. If state wins the tournament , there is a chance that UALR will get an at large. If that happens, Troy could get a wnit bid.

RE: 3 women's bball teams in postseason?
One thing to note is that the WNIT has automatic bids. The Top regular season finisher not to make the NCAA tournament automatically makes the WNIT. If Anyone other than UALR wins the SBC tourney, the Trojans will be guaranteed a WNIT bid at worst. If UALR wins the tourney, AState as 2nd place will be guaranteed the WNIT bid.

If AState wins the tourney, UALR gets an at large NCAA bid, then Troy gets the WNIT bid.

I think that's the only way we get 3 teams in postseason.

I agree. I think we're a WNIT lock pretty much regardless...so the only way 3 get in is if someone other than the two of us wins the Tournament, or if we win it and you get an at large.

Strange thing is I am not sure the matchups in the tournament really fall that way. All of our worst matchups are going to be your side of the bracket. For instance, we match up with UTA far worse than we do with Troy, but Troy's going to be on our side.

Troy is on a 7 game win streak and have been peaking at the right time.

If Troy wins the tourney wouldn't we be in the NCAA anyway?

Yes. Your only way in the WNIT involves AState winning the tournament and UALR getting an At Large, as I mentioned earlier.

This is our coaches 3rd year... She has taken us from 7wins a year to 12 to 20 this year

Next year we will have even more expierence and I fully expect to be sitting on top of this confernce next year if we don't do it this year.

We're not at 20 wins yet. They still need to beat USA to make it to 20-9. I sure do hope Troy can take this hot streak into the tournament and dominate.

I'm curious what the best scenario would be for the conference as far as post-season opportunities go? I think ASU or Troy winning the tournament would be the best... imo UALR will certainly be an at-large for the NCAA Tournament regardless... if they don't lose in their first game of the tournament that is...

Yes, but I don't see Troy getting an At Large WNIT spot. stAte is probably locked in to at worst an At Large spot in the WNIT, UALR as well, but Troy probably not.

From the conference perspective, the best case is one of the two of us winning the tournament, and UALR getting an At Large to the NCAA...

What are the odds of e.g. Troy winning the tourney and three teams heading to the big dance itself?
