Down by 3 points and there's only seconds left on the clock if i recall and Kent gets fouled on the 3 point line. Makes the first and second and missed the 3rd one.. that one was tough to swallow

Yeah, remember that one too. That didn't have the impact the Butler tip did though. I guess it was all the car bombs and tequila before with the atmosphere and all the ODU fans partying and living it up. But I've never been that deflated after any loss. I typically subscribe to NTTHOR's school of thought and about the most emotion you get out of me is a couple audible WTF's or come onnnnn's. And by the time I get to the stairs I've moved on. That one in DC was a gut shot though.

First game for Tim Floyd vs. Pacific. WE had come off a Cusa championship. Was totally stoked thinking sweet 16 or better that year. Watched Floyd bench Culpepper and let us lose the game. I knew right then it wasn't going to work out.

The ODU vs Bulter game in DC, that was tough. We had so many fans there, we were so confident and our star goes 0'fer. I didn't watch any more of the NCAAs that year. What made it worst for me, was hearing the scouting our staff gave the players. Just play our game and we should be fine. Then Butler did to us what we had been doing to teams all year.

2010 WVU game. Up 21-6 at home with 1st and goal and the ball with 8 mins to go.

Sat in stunned silence for 15 minutes. Walked to the top of the stadium, broke my flip phone in half and threw some of the pieces over the rail.

That was our year. If we had got past butler,i had all the confidence in the world we would've beat Pitt that year. Then who knows.

But the worst was the FCS playoff loss at home to Georgia Southern. I almost cried at that one. I was so certain we would win then go to NDSU, beat them, and go to Texas for championship. Alas! It wasn't meant to happen.

Oh man Georgia Southern. I remember trying to figure out what we needed to do to win that game when we only had like, 3 minutes left. It was stupid outrageous stuff too. I think we had to score in a minute, go for two, onside kick, touchdown, go for two, and then inside kick and field goal. And to imagine we were up by two scores on them in the fourth.

Our first home CUSA game against ECU. The game was big for MT for multiple reasons, since it was generally known that MT, Marshall, and ECU were the favorites for the East title. MT lost 24-17 in a game we kept close but could never get over the hump. The game dropped us to 3-3, 1-1 in conference play, and essentially ended our hopes of getting to the title game 2 games into the conference season. For whatever reason, this game irritated me more than the hundred other missed chances we've had at home, and I threw/kicked my MT backpack cooler all the way across the Grove back to my tailgate spot after the game.

The other is @ Kentucky in 2008. I want to puke now. I can't even write about that game.

WKU for me was during 2006-07 basketball season. The season had expectations of returning to the big dance. Ended up losing 6 games in the Sun Belt and went to the NIT. We had a home lose to FAU and I nearly got kicked out of Diddle for cursing during that game.

Of course it all came together the next year with the Sweet 16 run.

Northwestern State still stings, I cussed like a sailor in the parking lot but didn't get violent or drunk. The 2011 Houston game could have gotten ugly but the UH fans at the game were really good folks and gave me a few beers and a pat on the back so I give credit where it is due. There is a hole in the dining room wall from the ODU game this year. My wife threatened to never come back to another game after the UTSA game this year but we won that one.
