wow, I don't think I've heard it used on a kicker before.

This actually concerns me a little bit. Didn't the patriots do the same thing to Adam Vinatieri the year before they let him walk. Instead of signing him to a long term deal worth a lot of money, they found his replacement (Gostkowski).

It'll be interesting to see if they do the same thing to Stephen.

You make a great point, but Vinatieri landed in a good spot. I think Stephen would, as well.

He will be awesome no matter where he goes.

still, it's a nice payday either way...good for him, and I love his ESPN commercial.

He made 35-37 kicks and 3rd in NFL history for accuracy. He has done that over 9 years; the guys ahead of him have a lot less experience. The Patriots were only 17th best statistically for percentage of touchbacks, so they will probably keep an eye on that.

Either way, I wouldn't worry too much. He is going to get paid for a while.

Ok, what I meant was that it concerns ME, because I've gotten used to rooting for the Pats because of him. I'm not concerned FOR him in any way. He'll be just fine, haha.
