RE: ***Official Memphis vs Tulsa Game Thread***
I'm 40 and I've never been this lackadaisical about the Tigers. I'm much more excited about the spring football game than any basketball game this entire season. We gave up our tickets before the start of last season, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, but still, never thought I'd see the day when so many of my friends and family have lost interest.

Nice picture, but I don't have my head in the sand. Pretty sure Pastner is one of the most successful young coaches in the game. And our guard play has gone downhill since stoudamire left.
I'm sure you're a good fan as most of us are but then end for Josh is near and it can't come soon enough.
Do you plan on bitching about it all summer and all next season while Pastner is on the bench coaching next year? Outside the delusional bunch in here who THINK they are more important and more powerful than they really are. The top people who make the decisions support Pastner and knew we could have an off year this year. HE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE you might as well get prepared for that. The ONLY way he goes anywhere is Bowen want to take advantage of the minority acting like they are the majority and use it as an excuse to put one of his boys in the spot.
I agree with you that Pastner will be the coach next year, but let's not kid ourselves. They support not paying the buy out...yet, not the Coach.
I'm not sure if when the powers that be (or their CPAs) project several scenarios of lost revenue in lower level-my estimate now is 30 percent non renewals-that the buyout will be expedited. And despite all the claims to the contrary, there WILL be a buyout if a change is made.
It is so complicated in that it must be done in a certain order; with a good coach AND PR guy as well lined up and assurances as best as they can be obtained that the core players and the Lawson's will stay and play for new coach. Bad timing with projects that need to be funded but BB pays the bills and we can't let it slip too far.
This job is much more attractive than some of you realize IF the hirers ease the APR requirements somewhat; if that it done you open it up to a lot of really good coaches.
Otherwise, we are better off keeping JP one more year and avoiding a 4-5 year rebuild like we had with Cal.
Not sure about non-renewal percentages....but, if Pastner is here next year, I'm gone.
I pay way too much money to deal with this pathetic excuse of a bball program!
