You are kidding....aren't you? Evidently you are a young person and have not known the history of tiger basketball. Until this year I always thought Tick Price was our worst basketball coach hire, but after this year I am convinced that Pastner is the worst hire in our modern basketball history. He has no idea what is going on!
Tic would have 2 sweet sixteens or better with the teams Pastner has had
Now things are bat chit krazi.
A lot of people would agree with what I said. Give Tic Pastner's 2 most loaded rosters, and he would have gone further than Pastner. Tic had zero talent
Hahahahaha Tic had a loaded team at Memphis and he preceded to crap on it along with other things. It was a miracle what Johnny Jones did with that team during his interim year
Also who's fault is it that he has zero talent? That's on him he brought in guys, he should've been able to coach them better.
I think some of you really do forget how bad Tic was

I usually feel bad for the players after a hard fought loss like last night, but for the first time I felt really sorry for Josh. When Tulsa was making a run in the second half Josh was standing and looked absolutely demoralized.
I’ve been there and it can take a few days off of one’s lifespan.

I was responding to those posts stating he would/should leave on his own terms or cut n run.

I agree with this extremely truthful statement. I am grateful for the wonderful program that we have at the University of Memphis. A lot of bandwagon posters on this board would be happy to have ISIS players if we won games. Pitiful !!!!!!!!!!!

This board is delusional if you think Pastner want be here next year or even more delusional to think Pearl or Marshall will be our next coach. I hope that we do start winning with Pastner or a new coach and the excitement does comes back. And for all you so called fans that stopped coming to the games and want renew your tickets. I hope you want be able to get your tickets back when that excitement does come back because we need more real fans that don't quit when things go bad.
I hope hope this was just a spell check error and you are not really that poor at English...

Hum, so when he recites facts that are true....then he is delusional? Feel free to give us your psychological analysis of the situation. We would love to see how you came to this conclusion.

A coach that sites the law of averages, talks constantly about missed shots, says we need breaks to go our way, etc etc. has no clue.
He doesn't have a plan or a strategy or any insight on anything actually. Have you ever heard him answer a question directly about an in game situation?
If you're asking for a psychological analysis into Josh's thought processes, I'm not your guy. I'm not sure even the most tenured professional can help you there. If you're asking about the product on the court, most anybody can tell you it is disorganized, mishandled, lacking direction, embarrassingly mismanaged and chaotic. If you can't see that then why even ask the question? I get that you're a Josh fan, and that's great. Really it is. But if you're a true fan of the program that is Memphis basketball, which is the foundation of the athletic department and the university, you'll not put an incompetent coach ahead of everything else. You just can't.

RE: Well done coach pastner
Even with half the posts on ignore in this thread...the nastiness is laid bare.
Pastner was simply talking...as it seems like the breaks have gone against our team this season. Yes, King makes the shot or the Temple kid misses the shot and different outcomes...nothing new, and you hear that all the time.
We knew when he said that last night that he would get ridiculed.
Instead of Memphis fans, many if us included, that feel exactly that way. A down year with tough breaks, better get us this year. Will be much more difficult for you next year. No matter what he says, they ridicule him.
He coached his ass off last night. We lost. Will not happen much next year..losing that is...but it should be more difficult to finish this season without Nichols. How dare him.
We will enjoy next season. And avoid being weak willed enough to adopt a Utk style of bashing our own school, misgivings about the coach understood.
Great quote...but...do you guys ever get tired of being such miserable fans? And to answer, no, I never get tired of being a positive fan...and I recognize sub par performances.
(And am doing something here likely beyond you)

The people who put an incompetent coach above the program itself are the very ones crying and calling people miserable fans. The irony there is too cerebral for them to actually grasp, I guess.
