Charlotte goes 2-0 this weekend in Savannah, beating NC State 1-0 and UNC Greensboro 2-1. 3rd scheduled game (vs. NC State again on Sunday) was cancelled due to weather.

Charlotte's pitching (big question mark before the season----all new starters) has looked REALLY good so far.

What were the causes of that? I know people tend to post the good wins only, but did we take a bunch of bad losses?

Rice's RPI took a big hit not so much because we split the series with Stanford, but more because Texas dropped two to San Diego.

RPI at this point in the season can be fluid and very misleading. It's early in the season and teams are playing OOC competition. The important thing to do early is win the games you're supposed to. You can't do much about who you're scheduled to play and what their RPI is. When conference play begins is when to start really watching RPI.

There's no reason whatsoever to be looking at RPI right now--other than for comedic relief (Harvard #2 at 2-2, UMass Lowell in the Top 10).

Looking at RPI is pointless. Actually analyzing RPI is an even more pointless endeavor.

I hate Warren Nolan for making these numbers available.

The Niners have lost so many games to weather this year that we have only played 5 games. I can't wait to see Rice coming to town this weekend!! All 3 of our weekend starters will be making their 1st C-USA start of their career. 2nd or 3rd start of their D1 careers!!

ODU failed to sweep Rutgers, losing the third game 13-9. ODU plays one-game @ECU on Wednesday, followed up with a weekend series versus Penn in Norfolk.
