Cam Payne is one. Would have been nice to have him as a So. this year.

That was the 1st one I thought of.

Anthlon Bell has made 50 3's this season and makes 35% from 3. Would rank 2nd in both categories on Memphis. He avg's about 8 ppp. Be nice to have a guy like that.

Newby avg 5 reb/gm. Does a lot of dirty work. We could use a guy like that too.

I'd take those 3 over Kedren, Pookie, and Cunningham.

The comedian that called Lynch garbage wants Bell and Newby. Bell; a junior is shooting 37%; which is where he has been his entire career. He is also averaging 1.6 assists per game. Newby is also a junior who is averaging 3.9 points per game, 1.5 assists per game and shooting 28% from long range.

The truth is completely opposite of everything you post. This is another excellent example.

I thought that was MemTiger90 that said that.

we have no guards. that is josh's fault. managing a roster is the head coach's job.

his forte was supposed to be recruiting but he has filled his roster with mid-major/division ii talent.

His recruiting ability has been exposed. He got the talent he got in his early tenure based on the program's reputation, connections he had, etc. Now that he's lost all of that, we're seeing what he's truly capable of when it comes to him recruiting. Juco's, transfers, 3 star, etc..

yep - and a bigger reason for that which doesn't get mentioned a ton is that it's now easier than ever to diplomatically negative recruit against him....player development, revolving asst coaches, team discord, etc.

I am still not convinced that CJP is a great recruiter. The only NON-Memphis HSers that came here were Will Barton and Shaq. The 'stud' recruits that CJP got pretty much are Memphis-based (Nichols, Joe Jackson, Crawford, Adonis, Tarik Black, Elliot Williams who was a transfer but came here relatively early in his career, Nick King). MOST 'decent' BB coaches would have been able to land the Memphis-based stud HS bb players.

As to fitting the Lawson's in next season...

Shaq, I'm told, has the opportunity to graduate this Summer. Will he follow the lead of Tarik Black?

Will Nick King transfer? I don't know him or have any inside info, but he'll have to seriously consider it, won't he?

IMO, Austin will stay in Memphis for one more year before going to the next level. If he transferred, he would have to wait two years before he gets a shot at being first rounder. If he comes back, that can happen after one more year. Easy decision.

Next year will be better.

Pookie - If I had to guess, will look to transfer
Kedren - Will finish up his CBB career here
D'Mariner - Walk-on or transfer down a level to play out his career
King - I think he stays, but might put feelers out. He can/should get PT here.
Burrell - Finishes his CBB career here probably, could transfer down a level
Woodson - Stays put
Shaq - I think he stays, but could easily be a grad transfer
Austin- I think he stays (doesn't want to sit out a year) but I don't think he is happy
Markel - Stays put
Chris Hawkins - Finishes his CBB career here

So I think we lose 2-3 guys to transfers. At this point my guess would be Pookie is my top transfer candidate.

If Shaq graduates in 3, he will most likely leave.
Austin will be here next year and will leave after he graduates - leave for the NBA
King will most likely transfer
Powell will most likely transfer
Crawford will most likely transfer
