RE: To the few sunshine pumpers that remain..
I see this pulled out a lot and I have a question. In how many of those games were we the higher ranked team? Assuming you are using the rankings as a metric for how good we are, I am assuming we should only expect to win the games we are actually the higher ranked team. So the question should be how many did we win when we were the lower ranked team vs how many did we lose when we were the higher ranked team? Just curious.

I think Pastner's soon to be stat of winningest coach ever is enough for the real fans.

The funniest thing to me is how so many Tiger fans think Memphis is some major brand name. It just isn't. Living in Texas when I tell people I'm a Memphis fan they typically just say "Oh where Cal used to coach" or like "Didn't DRose play there?" And pretty much same thing happens whenever I travel anywhere.

In the big picture the Memphis Tigers arent as big of a deal as many of you make them out to be. Cal was and is a big deal though.

We poor people will never forget your assessment of our Tiger QB. You will really have to work to get your cred back after calling Lynch garbage..in a game we went on to win, btw. It's not impossible. You can do it, man.

http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-footbal...r/slide/25

He doesn't like that lol. He still thinks Lynch is garbage. He jumps all on every mistake he makes.

SMHAY . You had better not comment on him till midseason dude has a long way to go . You seem to want to ignore the fact that every time he faced a good defense he had almost twice as many turnovers than TD passes. He has lost a defense that was always way better than the one he faced in the game. The load is going to be all on his shoulders , we will see what he is made of. I hope the kid plays like a pro but he has a lot of work to do.

Ole Miss and Temple were about the only defenses that gave him trouble. Hey if you hate the kid more power to you I guess.

Dana Kirk - ZERO offers after Memphis

Larry Finch - ZERO offers after Memphis

Tic Price
No major offers before Memphis, 16 years removed from the scandal; 7 years of coaching since, ZERO NCAA wins; ZERO other high D1 offers.

Johnny Jones
Would have been our coach if Cal doesn't take the job. 11 years of coaching since Memphis before getting a high D1 offer. 14 years of coaching, ZERO NCAA wins

Cal

Pastner
Takes the job after there are no takers, despite the fact that we are a national brand with state of the art facilities, with boatloads of money to pay for an established coach.

It is what it is.

Some on here live in their own little fantasy world and refuse to face reality. So facts will do no good with them. They believe things are as they wish them to be instead of actually what they are. We have our periods of greatness some periods of very good ball and then other periods of subpar ball.

I'm not surprised that you are surprised. Kennedy missed all 3 of their losses OOC, and they played two pure road games; at Gonzaga and at Indiana. You would probably also be surprised to learn that Gonzaga is 137-8 at home over the last 10 years. They have won 13 of their last 14 and are playing great basketball.

Their schedule mirrors the schedule that Cal and Pastner played their first 5 years. What few chances they have at beating ranked teams all happen before New Year's and are mostly on the road. If SMU had opportunities to play ranked teams at home now, they would win a lot of the time.
Stammers what the heck are you talking about?? I'm not surprised at all with your response.. What you answered has nothing to do with my question.. Let me put it in simple terms- I questioned how SMU's RPI was so good being that they lost to all those teams, not why they lost, or who they didn't have when they lost, or how good they are now compared to then.. fsquid answered the question!! I know how hard it is to beat the teams they lost to on the road, duh, even Indiana with the horrible Coach Tom Crean!!
