The part where the article says "UCF doesn't have to go far to recruit" is great. LOL Only 4 of our 17 signees this year were from the Sunshine State. The others were from Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

We were in the top3 for most of them. Give us p5 access and see what happens

I like how they bash UCF's attendance but say nothing about Houston's. Compared to Houston, UCF's attendance looked like Bama's.

Writer was obviously clueless about UCF Attendance and UCF Football recruiting reach.

Appreciate the comments in this thread as it stopped me from clicking on the link and giving that writer "credit".

it was a about a 8k per game difference ... you definitely didnt look like bamas in comparison to houston

bama is doing atleast 65k per game more than either ucf or houston

give South/international/Atlantic Florida P5 access and see what happens. USF is the greatest example of what can happen. Start up a football program, get power conference label and be ranked #2 in AP college football poll within a decade

Top 5 mid season is nice, but considering USF has never finished ranked at the FBS level, I don't think that helps your argument.

And then tank. All it showed was how important coaching is. Our program is ahead of all of this programs and we built what we have in cusa. They also don't have the tools we do. Look no further than Miami for an example.

I'm not saying that any of the G5 jobs listed in this article aren't among the best, but it's the semantics and details of articles like these that continue to prove that ESPN has no idea what it's talking about nor should have any part in discussing the G5 conferences

oh, I disagree..that a start up program got as high as #2 at the mid point of a season proves what conference affiliation can do no matter where they finished. Its unheard of. Boise St got as high as #3 a couple times after playing football for 30 years and its universally recognized as incredible. Had they been given a power conference bone it wouldn't be...conference affiliation is the single most important factor on the heights a program is allowed to reach right now.

And TCU finished #2 in the polls as a member of the MWC, higher than they finished as co-champion of the Big XII, excluded from the college playoff.

But TCU would not have even had a shot at the playoff had they still been in the MWC. Conference affiliation is everything.

Any team in our conference is committed enough to perform well in the P-5 if they got the nod. Its all about the POTENTIAL for delivering a TV market. ECU has no market to deliver, no matter how many clueless ECU people post on this subject.

USF was invited to join a BCS Conf back in Nov 2003...yet their best ever season in the Big East was just 4-3...and they ended their BCS run with a losing conf record and never ranked in AP/Coaches Poll at season end.

Actually TCU was #3 in the BCS standings ergo they would have been in the playoffs.
