Chip poster is delusional .
Some dude calling himself "marooned" seems to think this whole fleck thing is temporary.... Having great recruiting classes in back to back years, Fleck bringing in over $3,500,000 in fund raising for our football complex, or playing USC----no big deal..

Here's something he can wrap his head around.....we go to Mt. Ideey and spot the VETERAN chip team a 14 point lead after one qt. then we simply smashed their heads in the Mt. Ideey turf....final 32-20...This was accomplished using a ton of young players and having less than a full compliment of 85 schollies. We had 71 full ride kids...
We are killing the MAC in recruiting. 24/7 has us with 6 verbals for 2016, 5 of which are 3* players. Oh, and one from the back door of cmu in Mt. Pleasant.....

I'll take our immediate future over any team in the MAC.. Especially the hayseeds in mt. pee.....Go Bronco's

Yeah, the Chip fans are pretty salty right now. Their veteran team got embarrassed by a bunch of underclassmen in their own house last year, and Fleck's recruitment + contract extension (commitment) has them on the ropes. Our future is bright, and they have not a damn thing to be excited about for the near future.

Personally, I just sit back and laugh. It's going to be a fun ride.

Sure it could be temporary, except that the players and system aren't.

Many in these classes are here beyond 2021. If Fleck leaves a successful situation one of his assistants will likely get the job, and the system stays intact although a tad less flamboyant perhaps. Much like the Kelly to Butch transition.

Coach Bibgbong is setting on three straight weak recruiting classes, and is struggling to get things up and running agaist the Boat Rower.

So temporary or not they are in a pickle for at least three more years.

They're also delusional about Wilborn.

Tommydorkchip portrays Wilborn as a one man wrecking crew. The Michael Jordan of MAC football. They all think Wilborn is chomping at the bit to join their cobbled together coaching staff, and that Coach Bingbong is having to beat back a plethora of P5 powerhouses. Truly DELUSIONAL.

The kid is trying to get his academics in order. No one is waiting on him except CMU. He may turn out to be a solid recruit, but he's only a hot commodity to them. Everyone else filled their need and has moved on to 2016.

Wilborn is a talent, but was told for more than a year by everyone recruiting him that he had to get this academic house in order. He didn't, and the recruiters all (except Central) backed off. It's sad to see when talent is wasted because of lack of motivation/effort.

I'm sure he will find a way onto the Central roster as a General Studies major. The Chippewa Way.

The USC thing actually had nothing to do with PJ. A WMU alum has a connection with USC football and suggested they play. KB ended up making that happen. But I'm sure it will be spun as the messiahs appearance on Jim Rome being the catalyst.

The only thing I would say to claim that this isn't suatainable. If PJ wins he's not going to be here anymore. So he isn't suatainable. If he doesn't win, he'll be here for a while.

That's what the BS degree in beermaking is for no worries there. Its the perfect major for those struggling with the more abstract. You get to go on field trips to places like the Bird and get a feel for the correct way to pour a cold one etc plus you get to play football in Mt. pee life doesn't get any better!!!!'

Yeah, we know... it was outlined in the article (and above). But thanks for the extra clarification. 03-melodramatic

In reference to the USC game? I think if we hold our own this upcoming year -- and go 7-5, or even 6-6 (and somehow make a bowl and win it?) -- he could be gone after 2016. 2016 is "our year". So we may not see PJ Fleck against USC in 2017 anyway.

Now, all this is running on (positive) assumption. This assumes that PJ's spirit and tenacity as an overseeing HC is what it takes to bring a mid-major to the higher-elite-like status, while at the same time, we have OC/DC/other assistants being Very Good at the same time. We've had a good year here, showing where the wind is blowing, after a near 0-12 season.

In other words, don't be shocked if we go 5-7 next year (which is probable, while being the best 5-7 mid-major out there) -- and go 8-4 in 2016, but him still staying for 2017 in that case, of course.

But overall, going 6-6/7-5 next year, and going 10-2 in 2016 (@NW + @Illinois (1-1), NIU + UT (1-1), GASouth, @CMU, @BGSU, @Ohio, @BSU (5-0)) -- he'll be hired elsewhere for 2017, if the MAC at the same time had a good year.
