Quote:The only thing I would say to claim that this isn't suatainable. If PJ wins he's not going to be here anymore. So he isn't suatainable. If he doesn't win, he'll be here for a while.
In reference to the USC game? I think if we hold our own this upcoming year -- and go 7-5, or even 6-6 (and somehow make a bowl and win it?) -- he could be gone after 2016. 2016 is "our year". So we may not see PJ Fleck against USC in 2017 anyway.
Now, all this is running on (positive) assumption. This assumes that PJ's spirit and tenacity as an overseeing HC is what it takes to bring a mid-major to the higher-elite-like status, while at the same time, we have OC/DC/other assistants being Very Good at the same time. We've had a good year here, showing where the wind is blowing, after a near 0-12 season.
In other words, don't be shocked if we go 5-7 next year (which is probable, while being the best 5-7 mid-major out there) -- and go 8-4 in 2016, but him still staying for 2017 in that case, of course.
But overall, going 6-6/7-5 next year, and going 10-2 in 2016 (@NW + @Illinois (1-1), NIU + UT (1-1), GASouth, @CMU, @BGSU, @Ohio, @BSU (5-0)) -- he'll be hired elsewhere for 2017, if the MAC at the same time had a good year.
