UTEP can play all the Tue, Wed and Thurs games they want, for Marshall, no thanks. We done that from 97-04, don't care to do it again.

and UTEP would probably still lead the conference in attendance...

We go ESPN we'll be spilting AAC, SBC and MAC time no thanks. The games they'll show are the games they're paying the big money for. I would take less money for more games.

I'd rather play Saturday and hope ASN grows than whore ourselves out to ESPN.

ODU looks pretty good on TV, 100% capacity in FB and +85% in MBB. We just want some air time.

I'll say this as many times as I have to: you guys who have not experienced it cannot accurately imagine just how awful it is. The "exposure" doesn't make up for it, either, when the recruit you're trying to sign is watching his little brother play JV the night your game is on. As a fan, Friday games can be tolerable if you're given enough notice, but high school football players and their parents tend to be otherwise occupied. In general, people are more impressed by a full stadium than seeing your school while flipping channels when Modern Family is in commercials.

I agree - really don't want to be on TV on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 05-nono

This. People seem to forget this is our first go-round with ASN. Considering the coverage we got in previous years, ASN was a God-send for this conference. I get it not everyone is happy with the network but guess what? Everyone will not always be happy with something.

I'll take a network that focuses on CUSA stuff than playing a game on a network only interested in P-5 stuff.

you guys may be in for a rude awakening when you renegotiate very soon.

Seriously??? You really think the current TV deal was a direct result of Memphis being in the League?..HAHA

What kind of effect did Memphis have in getting the current American tv deal that is only 500k more a year than ours is? What happened to that 7.5-10 million range per team that a lot of Memphis fans like yourself was touting before reality hit?

I have to agree. I have no desire to be on ESPN for mid-week games as a mouthpiece for upcoming weekend P5 games. I hope that ASN continues to get better and possibly negotiate some increased coverage with Fox.

No to ESPN. Fox is fine, we just need more airplay and we may just get that once Fox figures out what its doing with FS2.

No they don't give a crap about anyone not making them HUGE dollars.

Increased ratings. Data doesn't lie, ratings would be higher. The American public doesn't default to FS1 CBSSN and the other Fox channels.

Exposure? Depends on how you define it. Max people seeing it? ESPN wins. Ease of fans finding their team, current deal wins.

ESPN3? Yep there would be a lot of ESPN3, the World Wide Leader is pushing more and more content there because they think it is the next place to make a lot of money.

ESPN3 is going to die on the vine now that Net Neutrality has passed. The upgrade infrastructure to support full HD video will not be invested now.

Bull. The demand is there and the money will be spent and today's vote doesn't mean crap. There will be new president before the rules ever make it through the courts and that assumes our highly efficient Congress doesn't trump the whole thing with legislation.

The people who think the genie can be put back in the bottle always lose. Net delivery is growing and will continue to do so.

I don't know who is charge of FS2 but good grief what a waste of a channel.

RE: C-USA needs a ESPN TV deal
ESPN > FS1 & cusa tv exposure. CUSA tv deal $$$ > what espn would offer us. Its that simple. Its a paradigm. No right or wrong way to go. Our money is going down with new TV deal regardless, ESPN is so widely available that i wouldnt mind a bit, i could then see every conference usa game and we get primetime games here and there. Tuesday or thursday games makes no difference, bogus argument. More importantly, they woul actually not ignore us if we wete doing well and the hate would slow down if we have a contract with them. As has been mentioned, basketball coverage would be much improved.

I would vote to have ESPN, but if we get more money even if is less exposure so be it.

basketball coverage would improve? The MAC and SBC combine for like 7 televised games this year.

We have like 100+ with Fox and ASN.

Curious as to how you think fans would have less access to ESPN tv deal than our current? Because i have every directv channel there is and i cant find many cusa games. At a minimum, all conference games with ESPN are in ESPN3, which is a much better broadcast quality than ASN or FSN, etc and its available anywhere. Much easier to log in to espn 3 on your phone, tablet, xbox, playstation, etc than find a game on channel 697 in Standard definition, even if you can find it half the time its a blacked out channel or only offered in special markets etc.

UTEP can play all the Tue, Wed and Thurs games they want, for Marshall, no thanks. We done that from 97-04, don't care to do it again.

ESPN could care less about the MWC, MAC, AAC or SB. They aren't even fillers for what ESPN does. My guess is if ESPN could they would rather replay the SEC game of the week on Tue rather than show a live MAC game. That's just the truth.

They might not care about the AAC, but almost every football and basketball game is on ESPN. For football we play occasionally on Thursday and Friday, but mainly on Saturday. Every coach in our conference for football and basketball has said our TV deal has been huge in recruiting. It's a deal that we got low balled, but it has paid off and our next TV contract with them will be better.

Does anyone hear anything on the Big East? The only way you can watch CUSA games if you actually search for them. CUSA should do a deal with the devil because it will actually pay off in the long run.

Some mom and Pop TV network only available in small markets. The biggest joke that Banowsky has ever been associated with.
