You don't often win a game where your opponent gets what, 18 offensive rebounds? Nice sign that this team can find other ways to win.

Win #16 for the Rockets. Jim Heller says that matches UT's total for the 2013-14 season.

I didn't see the first half, but early on in the second half the Broncos were grabbing a lot of offensive boards. I was impressed with the Rockets zone defense causing WMU lots of problems getting open shots.

I continue to be optimistic. I think the Lady Rockets program may only be a season or two away from being a week-to-week contender. Need our bigs to develop some consistency. May be switching my Fan Plan to the ladies next season. Been 3 seasons with the men...

I thought this young team peaked midway during the season but the last few games have proved me wrong. They have stepped up their game at both ends of the court, in particular employing a good zone defense. The incoming class looks to add some ready-to-play freshmen.

Twenty O boards for Western. Lousy job by UT until late. Anna had a great game and, man, did we need it.

RE: WBB: Western Michigan at Toledo game thread
UT played good D, particularly in the first half and but rebounded poorly at times. I would guess that at least half of WMU points in the first half were second chance points because there was one stretch where they absolutely owned their own offensive board----still UT took them toe-to-toe for the half. Obviously B. Harris had a monster game as did Anna who saw a lot less floor time. I would also add that although it doesn't exactly show up in the stats, I think Sophie Reecher did a great job to get Miracle Woods in foul trouble such that her floor time and her ability to play aggressively were somewhat limited for much of the game.

Very nice win and looking good at this point as the Tournament is out there lurking just over the horizon.
