Quote:Children may be born with parents of the same sex following a breakthrough which scientists believe paves the way for “two dad” families.
Researchers from Cambridge University and Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science say they have shown for the first time that human egg and sperm cells can be made from stem cells in the skin of two adults. It raises the possibility a baby could be “manufactured” in a dish, The Sunday Times reported.
Any such technique would help infertile couples but will also raise serious ethical questions. Details of the research, funded by the Wellcome Trust, were published in the journal Cell. “We have succeeded in the first and most important step of this process, which is to show we can make these very early human stem cells in a dish,” Azim Surani, professor of physiology and reproduction, said.
Holy f**king sh*t - is this what the world has become? Scientists figure out a way to possibly solve a problem that's been going on since the dawn of time and once they think they might have a solution someone's first thought is how will this help gays? They can put all this effort in figuring out how to knock up a man but they still can't fnd that elusive gay gene, can they?
What a great thing to be working on-- how to make something happen that nature doesn't allow to happen.
There's a reason nature doesn't allow it. Unfortunately, we'll find out why, when stuff like this becomes reality. There will be lots of genetically defective children, with severe health issues.
But hey, who cares? Science is also trying to develop robots everyone can have sex and emotional relationships with, that will be indistinguishable from real humans. We won't have to deal with our own problems, because the other "person" will always "love" us regardless of how much of a jerk we are to that person.
We can all just be emotional narcissistic infants forever, purusing whatever selfish, lustful pursuits we wish, because science strives hard to give us that ability.
If that's now the goal of science, then no thanks. I'll take faith over science.
Not meaning it to sound arrogant, but the truth is that I actually want to deal with my problems, continue to grow as a person, have some concern for other real people, and not just pursue being a narcissist.

Stem cell use can be helpful in so many ways.
Not at all the same. A straight couple has the right equipment to make a child. It might need a kick start but it's there. Gays need a sickening bastardization of nature to have a child.
