First round blow out in a 12-5 match up

You can pick one right now for this year.

Blow out in NCAA's. Hell, use to them under Pastner, wouldn't be anything new and no big surprise.

The NIT games with Carney were fun. He had some of his most athletic plays in the NIT. As far as this year goes, I would never turn down a chance to beat Tennessee in anything.

For 2/3 of POSTERS every thread boils down to Pastner. Not very informative or fun.

RE: NIT Bracketology
When Memphis plays in the NIT...be it
2010
2005
2002
2001
1998
1997
1991
1990...
many do indeed care...and as noted, it is not really that rare, and is a pretty good consolation to a season that may have been short of NCAA caliber.

When we play in the NCAA, like
2014
2013
2012
2011
2009
2008
2007
2006
2004
2003
1996
1995
1993
1992
1989
1988
1986
1985
1984
1983
1982
...I was just a kid before the Dana and Keith Lee era...

That is even better.

When I was in college we always made the NCAA tourney, except my Senior year when we were on probation. At that time it never occurred to me we could ever play in the NIT. Then came 1990 when we were a bubble team and missed it. THEN it seemed like the end of the world. But as I got older, realized it was not, which did not change the fact that it was always disappointing and we wanted our kids to always play in the NCAAs let alone be a Final four contender.

But, the 2001 NIT really changed things. Played our first game on the road...I believe Utah, and won. That earned a few extra home games and we enjoyed the opportunity to see the team play. A few years later they were back in the NCAA then after the 2005 massive disappointment...a team with Dorsey, DWash, Carney and Jeremy Hunt let alone Banks half the year although that was part of the problem missing the NCAAs clinched by missing those free throws, and it was not so bad. Set the stage for a more mature DWash, a more mature Carney, a more mature Dorsey, and the addition of Shawnee Williams, CDR, Anderson and Dozier to become a Final Four contender.

Same coach that had a 2002 talent laden team fall short and a 2005 talent laden team fall short suddenly, with added maturity and added good players, gelled.

And it was fun to watch even amid the ever rising clamor at the time to dump the clearly over his head here one time Camby only wonder boy from UMass.

I believe it was the game we played VA Tech. It was fun and loud.

I think as usual, he doesn't know what he's saying.

Once again Stammers a lot-you have proved your ignorance-what other meaning could this portion of my post mean? "NOT IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT" HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLAYERS!

Posters were laughing at you (again) before I did.

Deflecting on being called out for your ignorance again. They didn't know exactly what I meant either. Yours was the only snide reply as is your custom. Or is that a Canadian thing?

Awwww...feelings hurted, poor thing.

NCAA everyday. No one even remembers who the NIT Champ is

Normally I would agree, but for this team the extra practices and games would be valuable for the start of next year.

Well I hope not. But if you're right, and the big dance is off the cards, then it's probably not in the table, either.

- The 85 team would beat one of the greatest teams in NCAA history by 20 points...but could barely beat Penn, UAB, Boston College, Oklahoma and lost to Villanova

- Dana didn't shave points

- Cal tried to lose games on purpose in the last part of the 2008 season

- Keith Lee didn't do anything bad, but admitted to it because he was scared

- William Bedford drove his own car

And now this mess...

Quote:Not Important Tournament. Don't care and I have given up and neither have the players!

Oblivious and offended. Funny.

The above was an auto correct and should have read "haven't given up", Which I said later in thread.

Go back and quote where I said the all of the above above WITHOUT LEAVING OFF PART OF THE QUOTE. You are a master at twisting words and quoting PART of someone's post to try to make your point. WHY?

Come man, Cal didn't try to lose 2008 games on purpose...just the last one. Just a little bit.
