RE: What will it take for CUSA to get multiple teams dancing?
Don't forget Dawgas, if La Tech beats UTEP on Thursday, ODU can also say they beat the snot out of the top team in C-USA in their only meeting. Kinda pokes holes in your one argument against the Monarchs

I think La Tech takes UTEP. UTEP has a huge size advantage, but La Tech's speed is really amazing.

This is true. It was that speed which doomed the Miners in at their January meeting in El Paso. I like to think Coach Floyd and staff will have made the necessary adjustments to that speed, and take advantage of their size. I'm actually fairly confident heading into this game.

You are so hopeless it's comical.
You keep repeating this argument that has zero basis in reality. You must realize since you are speaking so authoritatively about everyone's chances that the selection committee doesn't look at or take into account conference record or standings, right? RIGHT?! LOL.
OOC scheduling is much, much more important than in conference. That is why ODU has a superior resume to La Tech and UTEP this season. La Tech continues to schedule terribly for a team that believes it is NCAA tournament quality.

RE: What will it take for CUSA to get multiple teams dancing?
There appear to be two opposing arguments that ODU will have to hope for / worry about. One, that their OOC was good enough and against a strong enough competition (SOS) that the committee will favor them (they played good teams and beat them). Versus, that CUSA is the 17th rpi-ranked conference and the committee almost never takes a borderline or even close to borderline team from such a bad conference.
Personally, I think the committee tends to cherry pick data depending on who they want to shoe-horn into the tournament. They emphasize SOS, but they also emphasize conference strength, good wins, bad losses, etc., and it seems to depend on who they are talking about as to whether they emphasize one or another stat. I really wish they'd focus more on the OOC rpi performance corrected for road/home/neutral for comparing teams from different conferences, as some conferences have such a huge advantage when most of their members play so many home games OOC.

Bang on. If they want to set up a second round ODU/UVA game then they will. If they want St Johns or Temple instead then they'll leave ODU out. ODU can make it, but we're 5/6 games from that discussion, there's a high chance of a bubble collapse which puts ODU in. There could also be another ODU loss which ends the discussion.

RE: What will it take for CUSA to get multiple teams dancing?
A great solution to all of this would be for EVERY team that indicates that they care about basketball in this conference (UAB, LaTech, WKU, Charlotte, MTSU) would schedule aggressively ala UTEP and ODU. Then we all would rise in computers and voters mindsets. We all need to raise each other, stop the NAIA, D2 and low-low major SOS 300+ scheduling.
Or split the conference up after admitting that CUSA is a glorified low-Major in basketball with good G5 football

FWIW, UAB and Charlotte should be included with UTEP and ODU as the schools who schedule well. The former will see big improvement next season OOC with their young guns being a year older and the latter just need to find a leader at head coach.

He may very well may be one of them. He is teaching ODU and Charlotte folks the advantages of home court that dude is either drunk or too dumb to understand both ODU and Charlotte started playing football recently not Basketball.

We could summon Tmac to explain that home court is actually a disadvantage.

I know Tech is trying. We're having to play more road OOC games because people don't want to play us at home. The SEC won't schedule us at all. Last season we were able to get a couple big XII opponents. This season we had to travel to Temple, Syracuse, and NC State for quality OOC opponents. We only had 1 DII game and that was because we couldn't find a DI school to fill that date right around Christmas.
