This game was over long before Floyd got tossed. Tonight, UTEP couldn't hit 3's, couldn't hit free throws, and couldn't rebound. You name it, and UTEP couldn't do it tonight.

As a side note, I'm absolutely shocked that Tim Floyd PUSHED his own player (#20, Morris?) like that. If I was that player's dad, I would have followed Floyd off the court and beat his ass like a drum. There's absolutely NO REASON for Tim Floyd (a LA Tech graduate), to shove his own player like that when the player was only attempting to keep him from making matters worse.

I know they won't, but I hope UTEP fires Tim Floyd before he gets back to El Paso. As an alumni of LA Tech, I'm ashamed to have Tim Floyd's name associated with our program in any way.

I agree on that. Wonder what suspension he will get. UTEP needs to do something right away not just leave it to CUSA

But ODU fans are too clueless to realize the home advantage, now they think they are lock for the NCAA but yet they have lost 5 road games CUSA

Fired? Get serious, he acted a fool and was dismissed because of it. The officiating sure did not help, but that happens on the road especially in this conference. He will issue an apology public or private , does not matter to me and this will be forgotten. Haskins said you are as good as your point guard and just as last time we played our guards were pathetic. I would like to meet Tech in the tourney we have no heart and the only way we will obtain that fighting spirit is having it beat into us. Congrats on the well shooting clinic hope to see you in the tourney.

Question UTEP fans. Hunter seems like an emotional guy, Does he usually cry like that on the bench, I mean he actually look like he was crying on TV?

Just so we're clear, I have no problem with any basketball coach getting tossed from a game. Some even use it as a strategy (remember the movie, Hoosiers?) Rather, it was Tim Floyd's shoving of his own player that I really thought was chickensheeet.

You'd have been crying too if you had been playing as badly as he was. 03-lmfao

Seriously though, Hunter is a very good athlete, but LA Tech has his number because Tech is a team full of great athletes at the guard position. Hunter doesn't run into that a lot. LA Tech is just not a good match-up for him, and it frustrates him.

Agreed he should not have pushed him, but , there always are two sides, what the hell is Morris doing trying to hold his head coach back. He obviously felt that he has protecting Floyd but all he was doing was pissing him off especially with his lack of heart and hustle. Heat of the moment shove, not defending it, looked bad on tv, but get over it he is not getting fired or highly doubt he gets suspended. I actually want this team to grow a pair, they have this cocky attitude like they have accomplished something but when a good team ( Tech and others) shows up they fold like a lawn chair. We hope this a turning point in our season we have long been waiting for or maybe its time for Floyd to move on, and not because of the shove but more so the average record he has here these past 5 years.

I really like Lang. IN additional to being very big, he's a hustler. I thought he handled the basketball VERY well for a big man. Lang just didn't have any help tonight. Apparently, Washburn and Hunter decided to take the night off, because they both "no-showed".

If Washburn didn't show up in the first half, we would have down 20 at half. 9 points and 9 boards. Hamilton had 9 points on 2-12 shooting, and was Washburn's assignment most of the night.

The problem was that no one other than those two (Lang) showed up.

Hunter was constantly being triple teamed and still managed to get to the basket only to miss a one foot layup. I give Tech credit they know our weakness which is not being able to shoot, crowd the paint beat us on rebounds. They then smother our weak guards , cause turnovers and poor offensive flow, Hunter really cant do anything about that except FINISH when given the limited opportunities. I still will take Hunter over any of their players, just imagine what next year will bring, yes I know we say this every year.

He had his worst game as a Miner tonight. Not because of the 4 points. Because of his lack of defense in the first three minutes when he let McCree go off and start digging the hole we had no chance of getting out of. Also, it's the most important game of the year, and he takes himself out of the game with two of the dumbest fouls I've seen. If he's going to be our best player, he simply cannot keep doing that.

Came home and re-watched the game. Really like Mike Jarvis as a commentator. Said CUSA should be a 2 bid league. Said CUSA isn't a mid-major..it has some major programs...good stuff.

Officiating was horrible again, but what is to expect out of a bunch of college officials who barely made their high school jv team. We got beat bad and we match up horribly with La Tech, not to mention, La Tech was on fire and we were ice cold. We have to address our 3 point shooting, so that defenses can't sag inside on us

I have absolutely no dog in this fight whatsoever, but my god, the officiating in this conference is absolutely terrible.

I thought CAA officiating sucked. This conference really needs to hire some better officials because tonight, as has most of the season, was a total joke.

It didnt influence the outcome of the game one bit mind you, but just in general, the quality of the calls is VERY poor around the entire league.

Congrats to LT. Big win in an important game. The Bulldogs dominated the Miners both times this season. Now I'm hoping the Miners can get it together enough to win the last 3 and get that number 2 seed. Anything can happen in the tournament but I would bet on LT and UAB at this point.

Floyd makes national news again

http://www.thenewsstar.com/story/on-the-.../24105789/

Tim Floyd's first game at Louisiana Tech in 21 years is one he'd like to forget.

The former Bulldog, who played in the 1970s and spent one season as an assistant in Ruston, was ejected in UTEP's 77-60 loss Thursday night following a pair of technicals in the second half.

In the process, Floyd grabbed and shoved his own player, Earvin Morris, who was simply trying to hold the coach back from going after the officials.

Floyd needs to be banned from a game or two. Maybe he will learn to control his temper.
