WVU is a #1 seed....SU (shockingly) is a #2 seed

WVU a 1, hosts Delaware St (identical to UofL last year in seed & opponent). They host to MSG if they win.

Syracuse a 2, hosts South Alabama. They get a minimum of 2 home games.

DePaul is a 3, hosts Hofstra. If they win, they likely head to the Little Apple to play Huggs.

Providence is a 5, heads to Peoria to play Bradley.

UConn's season is over.

I hope all the teams are able to refocus on winning this tournament. This will be even tougher for Syracuse as they have no business being in this tournament. I really hope you guys show the NCAA what a big mistake they made.

Would have been nice for UConn to get in. Their young players could have used the extra games. I think we are the class of the NIT for what it's worth.

You would like to think so, but UConn didn't progress throughout the cofnerence season like most expected. Something wasn't right this season and it may be just as well to put it out of its misery in Storrs. Based on the numbers they really didn't even deserve an NIT bid, so they didn't get shafted.

As an aside, I read a minute ago that UConn is the first team ever to go from an NCAA 1 seed to no postseason the next since the NCAA went to 64 teams two decades ago.

Something hasn't been right about Connecticut for the last few years. Even though last year's team was a #1 seed there just wasn't something right about them. Mentally they just weren't all their and they lacked the usual Calhoun toughness. I think that's why Coach Calhoun is talking about some serious house cleaning.

Some non-Big East surprise teams left out.

Washington was playing fairly well at the end of the year and is done. You can't tell me there are 24 teams better than them that got left out. Same for Akron, who lost in the MAC title game on a buzzer beating banked 3 pointer. CM Newton said while they looked at the RPI and Sagarin numbers, they really just used common sense and asked each other, "which team would you rather not play" in a tournament to decide who got in. UW & Akron would be in the first 24 left out of the NCAA for me.

For anyone thinking UConn got shafted, they finished with a 111 RPI. Fresno St, at 88th, had the worst RPI of any NIT at-large teams.
