Yep, about time. The last Tigers game I saw in person was the UConn beatdown of Memphis at the AAC tourney, so this is sweet.

RE: Woo Hoo!!!!!
Does anyone here think that last year's loss to UCONN affected the tigers in such a way that it deflated them internally.
Memphis is a sensitive town, let's face it, very little room for blah.

I think the loss last year in OT @ Uconn was a turning point for our season. We had been playing really well, and had that game won. Had a couple bad calls go against us and Uconn survived, then we turned around and lost @ Houston and never really recovered.
Guys seemed to stop trusting each other, etc. We still beat Louisville a few weeks later, but the team didn't have that "swag" to them they were forming prior to that loss @ Uconn. I thought they played great @ Uconn, and they lost. It's like the team said "well, we just played our best and it wasn't good enough" so they mailed it in. Then Uconn spanks us again and wins national championship.
Memphis could compete with anybody, but something was wrong in their heads. I'll always believe that right or wrong.

RE: Woo Hoo!!!!!
It was a difficult loss last year....at UConn...but...
Team not only beat Louisville after that but also beat SMU and GW in the NCAA tourney.
Even though the narrative here has been that the team was horrible, that was not really the case. They did not turn on each other or any of that, but won three really big games even after that loss but yes, also suffered a bad loss to UConn in the AAC tourney and a fairly non competitive NCAA game against UVA for the right to get to the Sweet Sixteen.
Disappointing for sure...and as a fan and alum and donor etc...want more than that...but there still seems to be a bit too much throwing out the baby with the bath water in terms of last year. Every loss does not mean infighting and all sorts of extra problems.
