Maybe one or two actually care or believe it. With the lawsuit it hits regional news (maybe eventually national news) and now millions are aware of the rumor and an exponential number believe it.

Perhaps the lady in question feels it's an issue of principle that affects many, many others. This info is posted on boards all over the country. Next time someone wants to defame someone on an Alabama or T A&M board where thousands will see it they'll think twice. Maybe people will take personal responsibility for what they post and perhaps that's her motive.

They will think twice and take the second step to post anonymously.

They did post anonymously. Chipdip2 is not his real name. You can't post w/out signing up and if you sign up you can be found.

Registering means signing up with a g-mail account. I bet if you think about it you could figure out a way to post without anyone knowing who you are. I sure can.

Noper.

You can hop your IP, your ISP, your VPN and your BP all you want and you can be traced. You can spend all your time on the dark web, working though proxies, peer to peering all you want and you can be traced. You can wear gloves and be traced. Whatever anyone does is recorded somewhere and if not now, in the future you can be traced.

There is nothing secret on a network, ANY network.

All a matter of who wants it and how badly.

As for these jokers, I believe they just tracked the IP addresses, which every website records.

How about going to the library and posting from a public computer? How about buying a cheap laptop and going to the coffee shop with free wifi?

The IP address will still trace back to the library and with the time of the posting, they can compare to security camera footage. Using a VPN will make it harder, and there are other ways to make it harder ... but that's an awful lot of work just to be able to post made up drivel about other people on an internet message board.

It used to be, folks would just go down to the neighborhood bar to spout off about people. It's just back then, word of mouth didn't travel as far or as fast. With the internet, it travels around the world in a keystroke.

Not that many are going to insane lengths to post lies so again, fewer people see it and believe it because fewer people will post it in the first place. And I believe NCAABBs cooperated with subpoenas to help find these guys.

Well I just want to be preemptive and say that I have not had any relations with PJ Fleck.
