Barnes has been on the hot seat for a while. He bought some time last year, but it's still hot. All you have to do is google his name and the first news story that comes up references his job security.

Yeah, but he's righted the ship to an extent and Texas extended him over the summer. Barring a collapse, they will make the tourney and they just got back their best PG back from injury.

I know his seat had been warm for some time but the extension and turnaround this season seems to have quelled that issue.

You sure about that?

Barnes still in limbo according to ESPN.

I have been scratching my head for years wondering why Madlock isn't on our staff. If he coaches like he played, hard nosed, we could use some attitude on the bench.

Good find. Crazy that the rumor is the AD will keep him if he makes assistant changes. That doesn't seem to be comforting the Texas fanbase.

Perhaps that leak was a heat check to see if the fans would be ok with that course of action.

If not, Gregg Marshall might be their target.

That has to be uncomfortable. Fire your assistants and you can keep your job.

Wonder if Marshall's stock has changed after last night?

My guess is it means, if Texas can get Marshall, you are fired. If not, you will make A LOT of staff changes and have one more year to win big.

Usually firing your assistants buys you one more year at best.

Did it change Cal's stock when he lost the same type game?
