RE: Best mid-major QB to Memphis!
"Mid-major" is a subjective label. "Power 5" and "Group of 5" are subjective labels. The only label that matters is "Football Bowl Subdivision." The University of Florida is an FBS school. So is Georgia Southern. So is Southern California. So is Akron. So is Auburn. So is San Jose State. They all play in the same division of college football. Giving them opinionated labels doesn't change that.

RE: Best mid-major QB to Memphis!
Nice HS senior video (HUDL) of the kid. He looks like he makes quick, good decisions, move well on his feet, obviously has good size to see the field better, decent arm strength, pretty good IMO overall after viewing the video.
I hope all the incoming QBs have success since it only helps the entire conference.

You are correct. At the beginning of each season, Ohio State = Cincinnati = Miami = Dayton since we are all Div-1.
And lowly Dayton competed at the same level last year and defeated the mighty OSU...thanks for proving my point

The term mid-major only applied to basketball up until recently and only referred to conferences in the 12th through 20th rated conferences. For example: conference USA, WAC, Mountain West, Atlantic 10 were NOT mid-majors and not called that. Now it s starting to sneak into football too. So now if your not a school in one of selected 5 conferences that play football, you are incorrectly called a mid-major. I CANT WAIT For Espin to call Georgetown a mid major!!!! Things are truly turning insane.

Oh but giving opinionated labels foes impact perception. Look how ESPN has destroyed certain conferences by using that term incorrectly: The original schools of CUSA and the MWC we're not mid-majors, those schools are part of the old major independent category or the original WAC, and those schools were not considered in a different category, realistically or perceived as lesser. ESPN destroyed all the schools who were not in one of the 6 conferences, that with ESpin s help wounded any school not in those 6 by making the bcs in 1998.

Memphis has phenomenal success in basketball, and you call them mid-major's? Because football hasn't been as good? Why would you use that derogatory and inaccurate term about your team?

must be exciting to get a mid major QB at Memphis. The rest of the conference is recruiting major talent...just FYI.

The article referes to the whole AAC as mid major. I can live with kicking TU's butt with Brady Davis in the coming years. Hope we smash you good at Tulsa next season
