How can the Big East allow Villanova to play women's lacrosse in the Patriot League?

A school can elect one team to play outside the conference in a sport where it does not yet have the minimum number of scholarships, or, in the case of Villanova and Georgetown football, where it competes at a different subdivision.

I think The Ville women start playing Lacrosse this fall. That is when that season is right?
