Lots to get excited about but maybe lost in all of that money and renovation is some of the most exciting ->

"...the U of M has received more than 14,000 applications for fall 2015, an increase of more than 300 percent from 2013. So far, 5,300 admissions for the upcoming school year represent a 200 percent increase from two years ago."

And now you see what success in football does for the school. UC's meteoric rise in enrollment and quality of student population is not solely attributed to our on-field success, but it is absolutely one of the major factors.

Boise state also had a rise in enrollment after the 2005 fiesta bowl.

Yep. Put them on the map. I always wonder how/if this effects schools like Rice or SMU....schools with more selective admission requirements. No matter how good their football team is, they will not relax their admission requirements. My point? What benefits overall as a school do the Rice or SMU types get from a winning football program besides bragging rights? Not a rhetorical question.

Memphis sits in the corner of Tennessee and so is just minutes from both Mississippi and Arkansas. The Memphis administration has relaxed 'out of state' tuition for some of those students. Don't know the details but this might also be one of the reasons for the significant jump in applications.

Yeah, that definitely helps. I know we offer in-state costs to prospective students in NKY and SE Indiana. But I mean it when I say football success has a lot to do with it. Our enrollment figures have almost doubled since 2006, we have had the largest entry class in our school's history enter in each of the past 7 years, breaking the class before's record, and we actually had more applications this year from students in the Great Lakes region than Ohio State's main campus.
