And we may end up with no one on the end of season team. Chill out, they don't know your players. I've said this before: we went through it last year because they didn't know any of our athletes. They will see them and go from there.

Not suggesting where you will or won't finish but the SBC is a good league, on some years being picked 4th puts you as a regional team. I don't see why Yall continue to get upset about these, it's obviousjy just from lack a familiarity with Yiu being new... Nobody knows how you will translate. I'm sure Yall will be right there in the hunt. It's just preseason.. Somebody gotta be picked 6th... Means nothing.

It was more of a joke than me being mad.

Seeing as how GS's top two arms are gone and we lost one of the best hitting freshmen in the country last season, the Eagles will definitely start the season worse off than how they ended last season.

If Troy/TXST/USA all rebound like their fans say they can, this should be one huge dogfight. I think conference standings could be largely irrelevant heading into the tournament as there are plenty of teams good enough to win.

But maybe that plays to Southern's favor. Where our basketball teams have had great seasons before choking in the conference tourney, our baseball team usually has a roller coaster ride of a regular season and does its best postseason work when they're counted out at the beginning.

Any idea why Chapman transferred? He hit .341 which led the team. He is transferring to Florence-Darlington Tech which I believe is a JUCO His statement was that he wanted to be closer to home but then he says he hopes to eventually transfer to a bigger school. He also said there were no disciplinary or academic issues. So if his stated goal to transfer from FDT to a bigger school happens, then he will end up playing at 3 different schools. Strange.

I've heard rumors that he's a big UGA guy and is hoping to end up there. Pretty laughable since we're 4-2 against them in the last two seasons.

That's why they call is PRE-season poll. I'd guess that yearly there is a pretty good percentage of players on the preseason doesn't finish on the post season one.

That being said, with replacing half the team I'd take the championship the coaches voted for us right now if offered. :D

Well Georgia Southern won 40 games last year and made noise in a regional before falling late. App State finished well under .500.

Surely you didnt expect any of the coaches to know enough about your team to vote for someone?

I'd vote App firmly in 11th if I had a vote also...

I don't know about 11th, but I wouldn't have put App any higher than 9th. UALR's program is a mess right now.

Our predicted place of finish must have been all over the map. Two first-place votes and sixth overall.

Maybe those two coaches have watched the SBC football and basketball seasons and decided to see if they could jinx us.

Or they coached in the SoCon last year.

It's weird for TXST to have an average or bad baseball team. I expect to challenge for titles and be in the postseason.

They're just pre-season polls, but I saw that we're picked to finish 2nd in conference this year. . . . That's pretty good respect coming off a down season like last year.

I will bet huge we finish top 3. Wouldn't surprise me to win the league. Rodney usually underachieves, but the Belt is nothing special in baseball
