I see a lot of similarities between this basketball conference and the old WAC when we played teams like utah, wyoming, new mexico, Byu, etc. With a little more improvement in OOC play where we win more than lose we can become like that old conference. There's no reason why we can't.
That league was a multiple bid conference year after year.
You mean the conference that didnt want us and left us behind to rot? No thank you.

We left the WAC. Not the other way around.

The teams that you mentioned left the WAC for the MWC with BYU eventually going to a hybrid independent and Utah going to the PAC 12. UTEP left the WAC when the teams that were there were Boise St., Fresno St., Nevada, SJSU, and Hawaii who also left the WAC to be in the MWC.

I didn't mention any teams. However, if UTEP would have stayed in the WAC like Boise St. Fresno St., Nevada, and SJSU, they would have been invited to the MWC just like they were.

RE: ODU @ UTEP
I'm not saying that I want UTEP in the mwc, I said that the teams we have here in cusa are finally showing that they are good. I'm happy in cusa much more than if we were in the Mwc. If we get an invite then we'll let UTEP decide what they want to do. It's not my call, I just follow my team.
And yes, like Fit said (ugh, I can't believe I'm agreeing with him) the old WAC was always a multiple invite league. One day cusa will also be there.

There is no doubt that some of the teames in CUSA are good. The problem however is that no one is paying attention.
The MWC plays on ESPN. CUSA doesn't. That makes a big difference.

I agree. Now that I've had 2 years to see most of the teams the only thing holding it back is a better OOC scheduling philosophy and some of those close games to fall our way.
CUSA is very big and athletic and looks like all the guys that the top teams probably looked at because they all have those attributes you can't teach but were missing 1 or 2 things that kept them from being 4* players. But you fit enough of those pieces together and you have a team that can knock anyone in the country out.

RE: ODU @ UTEP
A little something to ponder is that 8 different teams that are in CUSA have been in the NCAA tourney since 2010. There is some good balance in the conference.

Are you high? Memphis almost won the National Championship a few years ago continuously made good showings in the Dance. That equals big bucks for the conference.

According to the NCAA, that game never happened and Memphis was 0-1 on the season.

That's weird because I remember exactly where I was when I saw it.
