1/25/14 If the Tourney Started Today...
Monroe has faltered, dropping two straight to the Mavs and Georgia Southern, giving the Eagles the number one spot in the conference. However, the Warhawks along with UTA and Georgia State are still nipping at Georgia Southern's heels.
Despite not being eligible for the post season, that hasn't stopped the the Mountaineers from playing the spoiler role, who have turned hot winning their last 4 games. The Bobcats, who at one point was sitting comfortably at 6th, has dropped 4 straight and now are barely clinging to the last seed, trying to fight off an inconsistent yet pesky Red Wolves squad.
Without further adieu, here's the latest standings, and possible match ups with my games to watch out for this week.
(***Keep in mind, while App State is technically 6th in the standings, with them being ineligible, teams actually bump up to replace them. So by fault, South Al actually would be the 6th seed, Texas State 7th and Astate would move into the last spot at 8th)***

#1 Georgia Southern and #2 Georgia State gets the double BYE
This Thursday, is rivalry week for both Arkansas schools as well as the Eagles and Mountaineers. While the UALR and ASU game will be battle of the bottom feeders, App State could play spoiler once again and knock the Eagles off their perch and giving the Warhawks and Mavericks a chance to catch back up.
Saturday doesn't really offer a big time "seeding match up"; the closest to that is the game between the Cajuns and Bobcats. If Louisiana Lafayette wins, it can get them right back in the race for top standing position (especially how the other games go down this week); Even if Texas State can pull it out, it would take a south Al lost for them to jump them and even then it would probably be at best at 6th
WOMEN:
UALR women's team continues to dominate, remaining undefeated in the belt and sitting atop at 16-2 overall. Lady Red Wolves stumbled this past week, losing to the lady Ragin Cajuns on the road, but were able to beat Troy and remain in second. The showdown between UALR and ASU will be this Thursday
For the most part, the standings remain the same with the exception of Texas State overtaking Troy for 3rd (Troy 4th), Lady Mountaineers to 6th from 7th, and ULM going from looking outside of the tournament to 7th. Here's the latest standings with potential match-ups!
