That's epic, but I'll ask the obvious question -- what changed between now and a week ago for us to shoot up 4 spots?
I see.
Is any one of them more respected than the other, or do they all carry about the same weight? In other words, if we say "We're #3", are others going to say, "Yeah, in that garbage poll you are."?

Very happy to see UCF get some love in this poll, baseball seems to be the sport the American teams are the farthest behind in. We need to establish 4-5 "upper tier" teams year in and out to compete and be relevant like in fb and bb. UH, Central Fl, Tulane, and ECU I believe are our stronger teams? Does anyone expect much progress from their teams in the foreseeable future? Possible dark horse teams?

UH baseball ranked third in preseason poll
Expectations are high for the University of Houston baseball program.
The Cougars are No. 3 in the Baseball America preseason poll released Monday, matching the highest ranking ever in school history. In other preseason polls, UH is ranked seventh by D1Baseball.com and eighth by Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball.
The Cougars are coming off a season in which they won 48 games, captured the American Athletic Conference tournament title and came within two wins of a trip to the College World Series.
Crosstown rival Rice is No. 15.
UH opens the 2015 season Feb. 13 with a three-game series against Minnesota.

It's nice, but none of it matters unless the season ends in Omaha!

TULANE AND ECU will be up with UH and UCF before long. Great programs who made stellar hires.
I really like this league.

Gotta love Texas college baseball:
#7 Houston
#8 TCU
#10 Texas
#13 Rice
#16 Texas Tech
#17 Texas A&M
(Imagine the SWC baseball tourney with this lineup plus Baylor and Arkansas?)

Makes you wonder why SMU isn't fielding a team, with all their obvious re$erve$..

I've asked people there that question many times....don't get it. Tulsa used to have a decent program years ago, and they are sans baseball as well...

Maybe not the only reason, but I'm going to guess it's for the same reason UH doesn't field a Men's soccer team...Title IX. We really should. Lot's of soccer love in this city, they'd have a lot of support behind them.

UCONN was picked to finish 4th in the AAC preseason. The program has accomplished a good amount since 2010...probably one the best programs in the northern US. Last year was a down year, but I expect the team to return to form.

Congratulations to Houston on their ranking at number 7. Be careful with the home and home series this season against Tulane. Former Rice and Sam Houston State coach David Pierce is turning the Tulane program around to a NCAA tournament contender yearly. Tulane will be back as old shortly. I wish Rice was in the AAC. The three of us in CUSA , Houston,Rice and Tulane , would go head to head for the CUSA title.

I agree yall will be back but it's going to take 2-3 years much like UH. However, I always want to play the best so get better soon!

I don't miss Rice. Let them stay in CUSA to play UNT and UTSA.

ECU is down to 22 players on the active roster for the first series with our ace getting hurt and another player quitting the team. This is going to be a bad year, but I think we hired the right guy. Just waited too long to fire the wrong guy for the short term.

Pierce is a UH Alum, former player, and coach. So is his top assistant Sean Allen
