RE: EMU drops home game with MSU in 2020
Quote:According to this article, EMU will get $2.5 million for the two games at Mizzou:

That's a pretty good haul of $ to bring in for two games.
Okay, basically it was just for the $$. And having a home game with MSU there isn't going to draw recruits. Nobody's there except family of the players and empty Pepsi cans.
Quote:they have said they came to Eastern to make football a success. By that, winning a MAC championship.
Holy sh!t -- is the administration smoking dope along with the hippie students? Wow. I can understand that's what they SAY -- and the renovations to the stadium meaning something, but IMO, it's their last ditch effort to save the football team so it doesn't take their other sports out of the MAC.
I could see, like a few other teams out there, EMU making an exception and being in the MAC outside football, but be an Ohio Valley member or something... but more likely just joining the Ohio Valley.

Here's a link to an MSU MLive article about cutting the cord with EMU:

Not really much new information in the article, but it includes extensive quotes and both perspectives. There's also some WMU-MSU banter in the reader comments.

I posted some stuff on there in my actual non-real-name.
