I think we all just knew that was the case, so why bring up the bad news we all already knew?

eh, we will bounce back next year. Troy will be a few games better, hopefully UL doesn't get blown out by a CUSA team. Ga State could get a win over UNC Charlotte, App will be better and won't drop 2 winnable OOC games at home like they did this year. We will be just fine.

Think the core group will be fine. We just need to see the rise when it comes to NMSU, Idaho, GSU. 1-11, 2-10 seasons really drive down the numbers.

Shame we lost those Tennessee and Kentucky schools. Little hope of ever turning this thing around. I say replace App with one of those Florida juggernauts.02-13-banana

I'd rather have mtsu and wku right now instead of Idaho and nmsu, and I would take them both back for basketball and baseball.

You do realize we have the option of not bringing them back in two years.

Not trying to switch up the conversation, we all know that football drives the bus, but I really think the Sunbelt is better known as a Baseball Conference. We were ranked 11 best overall conference out of 32 conferences.

Think if Troy can improve on there record, and ULM can get things going with there new coach with GS, and App State added to the mix I really think we could improve on our rankings in Baseball.

And before the F_U's, MTSU & WKU left the Sun Belt was a top 6 league.

Baseball has long been one of Georgia Sothern's top sports so I am really looking forward to seeing how we match up in the Sun Belt.

We not last in everything.................. were 3rd in per team money, got to take whatever we can get at this point. no matter how small the difference. 03-shhhh

MWC - $12 million + $6 million + $5 million = 23 million, split 12 ways = 1.917 million per team + APR

AAC - $12 million + $3 million = $15 million, split 13 ways = 1.363 million per team + APR

SBC - $12 million + $1 million = $13 million, split 11 ways = 1.181 million per team + APR

C-USA - $12 million + $4 million = $16 million, split 14 ways = 1.142 million per team + APR

MAC - $12 million + $2 million = $14 million, split 13 ways = 1.076 million per team + APR

Last year that group had RPIs of 86-127, nothing special. I expect App and GS to be in that range at a minimum.

Let this play out before ULL fans moan about the new guys dragging the conference down.

Look at it this way you upgraded in football and maybe baseball with App and GS, lost some in basketball and traded FIU for GA St. Bring in NMSU all sports for FAU, I'd call that a wash.

RE: No thread on the SBC being dead last this year in the G5 rankings?
We are who and what we are. . . . .
When other conferences need a new member, they talk about what G5 or P5 they can pick from. Us, we trip all over ourselves trying to figure out what FCS program is ready for a move up.
It's sports, you keep score, there are winners, losers, and everything in between. . . Same for conferences . . . We happen to be on the bottom . . . Such is our lot.
If we have a year like last year, it's more the exception than the rule . . . .
As long as we can be "cherry picked" when those above us have a need, and cannot do the same in return, we'll always be in the position of Re-Building, while others only need to Re-Load.
We are who and what we are . . . . 03-banghead

Oh, and Good Monday morning to y'all . . . .

My understanding was that the 12 million initial was based on 12 teams (basically 1 million per team up to 12 teams). If you have less than 12 you get 1mil base per team. I might be wrong on that, it is just what I have seen posted on the Realignment forum.

EDIT: I was also under the impression that if a MWC team makes the access bowl they get 50% of the payout instead of it being an even split. So Boise ST. is probably taking a bit more of their pie.
