Goldsberry was the catalyst on the team in the early 2000s, and benefited from playing under Bret and Craig. Then he absolutely flourished under Brownell's coaching. I loved his football mentality approach to the PG position. Toughest thing his size I've ever seen.

Is it an odd coincidence that the year he returns to a position involving UNCW basketball the team begins it's march back to the top of the CAA?

Perhaps the years since Goldsberry graduated we suffered from a curse of sorts that was only lifted when we decided to pair him with Mike Vaccaro and retire his number?
