Worst fan base ever. Can't even win without showing your collective asses. Just say good game and move on. I'm sure a few of you mutts will respond with something skewed and hateful. No surprise if so. Carry on.

Memphis stats that stand out:

51.4% FG's

43.8% from three

57.1% from the FT line.

Out rebounded UCF by 29

That's right ..... out rebounded them by 29

UCF is last or near last in most conf defensive categories and will need a pretty good 3 pt shooting Memphis team to have a bad day.

Meanwhile, UCF leads AAC in 3 pt shooting percentage but they are going up against the #1 defense against the 3 in Memphis (25%) so UCF will have to win that battle will be a must.

Should be a good learning experience for UCF's young guns...and hopefully, some how, UCF can leave with their first ever W at Memphis vs the Tigers.

sounds eerily like Josh Pastner's first year as coach.

Good game Knights. Sorry the game thread had to disentigrate into yet another pissing match. It's getting extremely annoying to wade through pages and
pages of absolute garbage from the usual suspects every damn time.

That Knights squad have some good young talent, especially the Henriquez kid. I know he didn't have his best game today, but you can certainly see how he won the rookie award three times this season.

Best of luck the rest of the year.

Fair argument, but it doesn't make either right.

Lol.

We've been better than this before. But I'd say UCF basketball is like Memphis football has been 49 out of the last 50 years. Below average.

49 of the last 50 years? Dude, seriously, you need to go back and take a look at Memphis football history. That's WAY off the mark. When I have more time, I'll give you some links to read.

Sorry, I was wrong. Just went back and looked. I counted 11 seasons in the last 50 years (since 1965) that Memphis had 7 wins or more. So my bad. 39 out of the last 50 years. For UCF you'd have to go all the back to 1998 to get to 11 7+ win seasons

And right BEFORE 1965, we had a bunch more. 8-2 in 1962, ranked #17 in final poll. 9-0-1 in 1963, tied #3 team in country, beat #7 team, final rank #14 in UPI final poll. We were actually nationally competitive in all of the '60s and '70s. And we were playing some of the top teams in the country. We have wins over almost every SEC team except Bama, IIRC.

Also, you said below average. Average is an even record. And back when we were good, we only played 10 games, so 5 was average, and 6 was a winning season. we had some of those, too.

Heck, even in the last decade or so, we had 5 bowl games in 6 years, so "below average 49 out of 50 years" is just fantasy.

actually we have beaten Bama (13-10 under Charlie Bailey...Rip Scherer was Bama's OC that year)....we just have not beaten Georgia, Texas A&M or Kentucky.

Most of it was zfred12, grapes, and TripleA having a rationale discussion of both schools sports history. Don't know where you got the whole "pages of absolute garbage" and "usual suspects"...You must be in the wrong thread.

Well...almost everything UCF needed, didn't happen:

1) UCF's Bigs McBride and Blair HAVE to stay out of foul trouble for UCF to have any shot at today's game. Both players ended up with 4 fouls each in less than 20 mins of action for each. McBride played ok before he got tired and started to give up easy fouls. Blair was never with it today and it showed.

2) BJ Taylor has to get hot from the outside....while Adonys has to be a threat INSIDE the 3 pt line (has to get to the FT line...shooting 93% during conf play...but he won't get fouled only shooting 3's). Taylor was 0-2 from downtown but drove to the lane constantly, where he ended up going 13-15 from the FT line. Adonys did take some 2 pt shots...but still only got to the line once where he went 2-2. He was 1-8 from the field...as he had one of the worst shooting/scoring nights of his Freshman season.

3) Meanwhile, UCF leads AAC in 3 pt shooting percentage but they are going up against the #1 defense against the 3 in Memphis (25%) so UCF will have to win that battle will be a must. UCF was only 4-11% from downtown...some which came in garbage time...as UCF never were able to get off Taylor, Adonys, Wilson or Goodwin from long range. UCF needed to get at least in double-digit 3 pts to have any shot at winning today.

Good experience still for the young guns...as it showed them the importance of playing BOTH sides of the floor..and how you have to attack the start of each half...where the game was first decided and then put away.

Let it slide?
You do realize your basketball program hasn't won a single tournament game in the history of its program? No conference championships not nit champ no nothing.

I understand that our football team has not always been hot but its not like they've never accomplished anything .. Lol

Nah man I agree that our basketball program needs a lot of help. I was letting the football thing slide since hall havnt beaten us in football in the last 25 years. Kinda like how UCF is 0-11 soon to be 0-12 in basketball at the FedEx forum.

I never mentioned anything about head to head. I was simply speaking for our best sports and then our "secondary" one.

Our basketball program has accomplished more than your football.
Our football program has accomplished more than your basketball.
Regardless if we we're even 0-100 to ucf.

But, many could argue that head to head our football is better than yours.
(we know basketball isn't a question)

UCF has 224 wins all time.
Memphis has 455 all time.

UCF has 6 Conference Championships.
Memphis has 7.

UCF has 3 bowl wins of all time.
Memphis has 4.

Well all time wins will be skewed just because y'all have played a whole lot more football seasons than us. Same with bowl wins and conference championships. What would be the comparisons from when we both started playing FBS football? That would be more telling.

If you wanna look that up go ahead. We started playing FBS ball in 96'. I can almost guarantee our total wins, bowl wins, and conference championships, and even division titles are more than yours.

I understand that we've been around a lot longer.
And I also understand UCF is fairly new.
You guys almost have as much bowl wins and conference championships than us in that short time, correct.
BUT this does not take away from the fact that our program is just as good if not better than yours. Going on your 'program is new' thing is basically implying that you guys are better just because you have had more recent success than us.

Agree, one is as bad as another. I'd like to meet some posters' parents to let them know how much of a failure they were at raising legitimate adults that could contribute to society.

There's some good, young talent on the Golden Knight squad. Block out on the boards and potentially that could be a different game....and that's a discipline that has to come from the practice floor.

Agree 100% Also, we're too dependent on the 3 ball. Double edged sword that inevitably cuts the one using it. Good game Tigers.

Maybe you were good before 1965 I really don't care. I did say the last 50 years which is to 1965. I was born in 91' so in my lifetime iv never seen Memphis be better at football than UCF. 49 out of 50 was wrong I admitted that. My bad.

And I was born in 1947, so all of that was within my memory. Even being born in '91, you didn't recall Memphis going to 5 bowls in 6 years? Heck, the last one before this year was in 2008. Going to a bowl is never "below average."

People act like our entire football history was from 2009-2013. And no matter how young you are, if you're gonna claim 49 out of 50 years, you better expect pushback, especially when you are THAT far off.

I don't think saying Memphis is better just because it's been around longer is fair either. In the last 10 years. UCF has had the better and winning program. Could that change in the next 10 years? Yes, but we will have to wait to see that. Right now UCF is the better program. Over the last 10 years? UCF is the better program. Last 50? Gonna have to give that one to Memphis bc we weren't here yet.

I'd consider 6-7 wins average, I'll concede that. So I'll backpedal a little bit to 39 of your last 50 season were average or below. Below more often than not.
