Our game won't be their opener either.

Didn't another MAC East team (Toledo?) push them too not that long ago?

It's possible, but I have 0 hope for either this game or MSU. An L is an L. In the end there is no moral victory.

Try to keep in mind the pattern at WMU. These games are not about victory. They are about a cash payday. The coaches are always compliant, Cubit always said, I play who they schedule, and the line is always the recruits get to play in the big time, but you have got to think the mediocre record rap has a lot to do with a couple sure losses on every schedule, and the toll on our players putting out a superhuman effort to be competitive.

To me there is a moral victory. You strap it on and go out there in Columbis and get it on with a whole team of 4 and 5 star talent, they are bigger, faster, stronger, and 80,000 home fans looking to see a little blood and maybe a knee or a dislocated shoulder just for fun? You don't back down, you play hard, maybe the score is not a victory, but for the rest of their life they can say I didn't back down. That is a victory.

That was 2011 when Luke Fickell was interim coach between Tressel and Meyer.

Remember Meyer coached in our league (BG). Don't think he's going to let Buckeyes over look a MAC team.

i hope we are up 9 points at the end in a driving rain storm with the ball and use all 3 of our timeouts just so the Ohio state fans and Meyer have to suffer a little bit longer

Having made the trek to Boise, I'd prefer to do without the driving rain storm if at all possible...

Can someone dig up a game recap/box score from that game?

Here's a link to the box score:

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/sc...286330.htm

I tried searching for an article/game recap/summary, but have not been able to find one yet. I'll keep looking. Hopefully someone else will have more success and beat me to it.

I was at this game, and I'm not sure I ever heard a crowd at Waldo boo louder - and Meyer deserved to get booed hard.

Here's a BG game recap that includes a couple of Urban Meyer quotes:

http://results.bgsusports.com/football/s...011013.pdf

No mention of the controversy regarding his use of timeouts at the end of the game. I'll keep looking, but unfortunately I think that's going to be a difficult find at this point.

Edit: Here's a game recap from the Toledo Blade that features more extensive quotes from both the Broncos and Meyer:

Duh.

Same coach but different school, and he's got slightly better players now.

We're two coaches down the road.

It will have been 14 years. That game will have absolutely no bearing on this fall's. Let it go.

To fire them up, he'll be like "Yeah, we're playing Western Michigan. You're probably saying, Who are THEY?" Well, they went bowling last year -- and they beat MY a$$ before. How about we get some revenge for my sake at least, huh guys?!"

Another New Awesome QB for OSU: "Coach, that means they COULD beat us."

Meyer: "Yes, if we don't do things right, yep!"

QB: "So, if they got the lead, and it's like, just seconds to go and they got a first down -- you gonna call a bunch of time outs?"

I figure we should bring back Gary Durnell as a good luck charm for Ohio State. Very few coaches in the country can say they beat both Jim Trussell and Urban Meyer. Coach Darnell could be our key to success LOL

Marshall went down to the wire in the early 00's. And that MAY have been a year Marshall didn't win the MAC. It was post-Leftwich.

I will say this, if we pull off a miracle of miracles beating tOSU I will saying something like this to scUM fans. "UM & WMU have something in common. We both beat tOSU once in the last ten years."

RE: WMU "a challenge" for Ohio State?
I'm not saying we're going to beat Ohio St. (we won't), but the Buckeyes have always had a tendency for being vulnerable at home before the conference schedule.

2014: Virginia Tech handled them
2013: Buffalo was much closer than it should've been before they pulled away late
2012: Barely held off UAB in the final minutes
2011: Stopped Toledo in the final minute to avoid catastrophe

Could probably keep going...

RE: WMU "a challenge" for Ohio State?
Wishful thinking and highly selective. The Buckeyes have a tendency to beat the tar out of MAC teams.

2014: Kent State 66-0
2013: Buffalo 40-20
2012: Miami 56-10
2011: Akron 42-0 (they were 6-7 this season)
2010: EMU 73-20 and Ohio 43-7

We are going to have a solid team next season and will be fortunate to keep them under 50 points and stay within 3 TDs.
