Enos going toe to toe with GLIAC
Last week Enos stole a recruit who had verballed to Wayne St.. This week Enos has offered WR Sean Bunting.

Per Allen Trieu
After landing a handful of D2 offers, Bunting finally got the news he had been waiting for last week when Central Michigan extended a scholarship his way.
"I"m blessed and honored that CMU believed in me," he said. "They're my first and only D1 offer right now."

Unless Enos know something about the potential of these kids to play D-1 ,Id be real uneasy if Im a chimp faithfull. Stocking up on GLIAC recruits is good for WMU!

CMU is going nowhere fast with Enos. He can stay there forever for all I care. The past couple seasons have seen him battle with FCS and Div II teams for recruits.

On that note, how bad will CMU be next year? They lose Rawls, Davis, Walton, Cherocci, Phillips, Wilson and more. With FCS and Div II talent filling the gaps, will they even reach .500 again?

The difference in rankings from Rivals and Scout on CMU's recruiting class is kind of funny. No 3 stars on Rivals, but a bunch on Scout. Allen Trieu must be a CMU fan. I imagine their talents lay somewhere between the two recruiting services.

Scout allows publishers to double as analysts. So of course, they gin up the star rankings to get more subscribers to the sites they publish for. Allen publishes for a few sites on Scout including Chimp Illy and the GVSU site. Even the slappies have figured out it's bogus.

Not just publishers, ordinary staff writers too. It's the wild west over there with ratings.

We tried to make a case to Josh Helmholdt for Asantay Brown and Jordan Billingslea's ratings to be bumped up after watching them at a WMU summer camp. He basically told us to take a hike since he had watched those kids more than a dozen times. Said their ratings weren't changing. EOD.

Josh is a good guy and he's super knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff and rating players. I remember he was specifically really high on Kenny Finley, Chukes, and Curtis Doyle.

The process for Site Publishers if you thought a kid was underrated or overrated was that you had to make a strong case to your regional scout (Josh was ours), tell them why you thought the recruit was under/overrated, what you would rate them, and why. He would then review it, watch film, and base it off what he's already seen. But we were always told that it was very rare to "win" those cases.

My point is that Rivals -- and I think it's largely true of 24/7 also -- takes ratings much more seriously and don't just arbitrarily slap one up whenever it's convenient.

I agree. I think if you are a 3 star from Rivals or 24/7 you are a solid recruit. Scout on the other hand raised a CMU commit from a 3 star to a 4 star in the middle of his high school season? Really...why? Pretty sure that the other recruiting services still have him as a 3 star.

That is true Cant.

Allen Truie raised Rayshawn Wilborn, who is a 2 star on Rivals, to a 4 star on Scout.

Why, you ask.

Because, and I'm not making this up............Truie went and saw him play a game.

In fact, Truie took 8 CMU players from two stars to three stars.....................................drum roll please...............in one day. 03-lmfao03-lmfao

That's the difference between a guy who does it full-time vs. a comedian (I'm not joking, look it up. He's actually quite funny) also doing scouting on the side.
