Most likely some lower-tier FCS team. That's what it usually is.

Don't know who specifically. Maybe Nicholls or Murray again.

RE: 2015 Non Conference football schedule
There's a rumor of a major P5 team that wants to add us in either '15 or '16. It would be the first time we've played them.

RE: 2015 Non Conference football schedule
That would be an insane 2015 if that came to fruition.

There can't be more than a few P5 powers still looking to finalize their '15 schedule. I did notice BYU has a TBD, but it's later in the season (and I don't think they'd be considered P5, technically?).

UAB had Tennessee scheduled for next season but now it's filled by BGSU.

Not really, just someone out west.

Our non-con schedule is tough enough as it is. I would rather not play two top 10 teams, another P5 and a good G5 team.

I see Stanford, USC, and Arizona still have one non-conference game to fill in 2016.

Arkansas State plays at USC this fall.

Our 2015 OOC schedule is brutal right now. I would think our athletic department would add a FCS game in that spot.
I would love to see WMU play Syracuse, in football, in the near future. I spent my childhood in Syracuse and I have some good memories in the Carrier Dome.

2015 Non Conference football schedule
Syracuse recruits the Chicago area very heavily and we've competed with them for recruits the last few years. It would be great to get them on the schedule and give ourselves a shot to beat them and claim bragging rights.

Everyone recruits Chicago. It's an easy in easy out location for any program.

Looks like we have our in conference schedule now.

How the heck did we draw the same three MAC-E teams from 2014? A very bad draw IMO; defending MAC-E champions, a potential up and coming Miami, and a usually good MAC-E Ohio.

USC has an opening in their schedule for next season on September 19th. We have the 19th open as well (that would be sandwiched between trips to Georgia Southern and Ohio State).

Even if the payout is good, I can't see why we would need to play what could be the defending national champions in Ohio State, a team that could contend for the title in Michigan State, and a solid Georgia Southern team........as well as another "major" P5 team from out west.

Yeah that sucks that it's the same three crossover games. That being said, I'm okay with the match-ups. We won all three of them this year, no reason to think we can't do the same again next year.

Alright so I've got us going 7-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

same crossover games because don't we have to flip home and away. Isn't it a two year draw?

IIRC, the PAC-12 only plays 3 non-conference games. So I don't think their date is actually "open."

I agree.

Reaching 7 wins and positioning ourselves for bowl invites is important as well, and optimally we'd like to enter conference play at 2-2 (minimum) to take some stress off. 1-3 or 0-4 leaves little room for error once you get into the MAC.

2016 is a little "easier," but adding another P5 on top of @Northwestern and @Illinois is still a tough task.

Yep, same thing happened a few years ago where our MAC East crossovers simply flipped home/away in the following year.

RE: 2015 Non Conference football schedule
If the rumor's true, and it's for 2015, my completely uneducated guess is still BYU. It's out west and they have a spot to fill, although it's later in the season (Oct 24).
