If a playoff included all 10 conferences
If the CFPincluded all 10 conferences, would a G5 team win it in the next decade?
And how much, if any, leveling effect over time would this have since the G5 conferences would get more money?
I remember before the BCS that Some really big time All-Americans came from G5 schools.

After watching Oregon play last night, I don't see anyone but Oregon winning it until they decide to tank.

Every time a BCS/G5 team gets good, they get snapped up by the more revenue generating conferences. Utah was a good BCS school that got snapped up, same with TCU, and WVU.
One difference those schools have over most of the remaining G5 schools is the revenue they generate on their own, before the conference revenue they get.
The only remaining G5 schools that can compete are those willing to spend the money to upgrade their stadium capacities AND fill the larger capacities.
In addition, each of those schools need to have a large following (alumni) to travel to fill the road stadium games. Louisville might have been the last to successfully do that.
Finally, the schools must have a long time success on the field. At least a 5 year success period is probably needed. A couple of solid seasons probably isn't enough.
Not many of the remaining G5 schools can make those claims. UC is trying to be the next school.

Couldn't be the part where FSU just has no reason being in the top 15

More money or not it would be a much more level playing field. Similar to NCAA basketball where you have schools outside the P5 in the final four and possibly winning it.
If each conference champ has an auto invite a lot of the negative P5/G5 crap goes away immediately. Everyone has a legit chance and that is why they don't allow it now.
They want the traditional powers, nobody else. It is un-american just like Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun called the current playoff system.

RE: If a playoff included all 10 conferences
If a playoff included all 10 conferences.... those poor babies over at ESPN would have to learn coaches' names correctly like Justin Fuente (not John Fuentes) and all other 129 teams stuff, and they couldn't fit the sports news into a nice, neat, little 30 minute package rolling over and over on cable.
Same goes for sports talk radio. So no, I don't think that will ever happen. Would be nice.

A Playoff involving all Conference Champs would make far too much sense. It requires "Fairness" and an "Equal Opportunity To Compete".
These principles have been abandoned by the NCAA and the CARTEL-5.

If we could compete for a championship kids would stay home and there would be much more competition. I think everyone would make more money overall but the brands diminishing would be enough of a deterrent for the power brokers to put the lavash on it. It would allow teams like ecu, Boise and Ucf to hold onto recruits and compete consistently. The creme would still go to the blue bloods but programs like vandy wake Indiana etc would lose out. It would be great for teams in recruiting rich areas like Ucf usf cincy etc.
