First game of 2015 season
After watching yesterday's MSU win . No doubt WMU will have its hands full not sure a perfectly played game by the Broncos will be enough. Its going to be one huge event on campus and in the Kalamazoo community. Hope the Broncos can hang.

RE: First game of 2015 season
The only hope I'm holding out for this game is that MSU's defense is not what it was, and Narduzzi will be gone.

Biggest question I have is can we stop their offense? I doubt it. But I think we can make it interesting. If 35,000 people show up and we put the first points on the board, you never know.

We have 16 starters returning in Fleck's Year Three (should be in his "comfort zone").

Home field advantage, Spartans will no doubt overlook us.

Adds up to a Bronco win.

Highly doubt MSU is going to overlook their first game of the year, but I guarantee that the receiving corps is chomping at the bit to go against that secondary.

At the very least, we should be able to put up some points with Narduzzi headed to Pitt and MSU's defensive leadership in transition.

One MSU DB heading to the NFL early; Calhoun to follow?

Yeah I was pumped for the Hiller senior game at UM, thought we could hang, but then you look up at the half and it is 32-3.

We're looking at a top 4 team. Gonna be tough to compete. Still it will be a thrill.

35k at Waldo and 90% are going to be MSU fans. It is essentially a home game for the Spartans.

Your kidding... 05-stirthepot Should be 80/20 or 75/25, WMU.

Seriously, what is WMU doing to keep the tickets available to WMU fans first...

Are they going to block off say 8K student tixs?

Maybe 10/15K season/mini-season tix plans?

Then the free for all begins???

And it's a road game for them. Harder to overlook a road team who was a bowl-team the previous year. With oars and all.

No. At worst, it'll Feel like close to a neutral field. There'll be a record-setting attendance -- around 38k, is my assumption. I would assume about 60/40 for WMU.

MSU's going to take a hit on their secondary, which should be helpful for us. Of course, so is ours. But if Cook plays as poorly as he did last night -- we may be OK. I just want us to hold our own and not get anally raped like CMU was by them.

03-lmfao Yall must not have watched the game when they played at CMU. More State fans in West Michigan than northern lower as well. Neutral field environment is wishful thinking.

That's not going to happen at WMU.

It'll be somewhere around 60/40 in favor of WMU.

CMU was scheduled to suck, and they did that year.

CMU is also just north of MSU. It's more of a GR-Kzoo distance.

Plus, there was much more to cheer for as CMU wasn't doing anything and MSU was (will give you a bigger feeling of lopsided fans due to lopsided scoring/reasons-to-cheer)

Not to say MSU is that far from Kzoo of course by mapping it out, but it's more of a closer-relationship-distance-thing.

If we went, say, 4-8 last year and were on our way for a god-knows-what bad team -- yeah, I would say MSU fans would fill it out more where they'd tip the scales some.

This doesn't look like a green-and-white dominated crowd in Mount Pleasant back in 2012:

No one's denying there's going to be lots of Spartan fans in Waldo - just as there were in Kelly-Shorts in 2012 - but you're nuts if you think Waldo will have a majority pro-Spartan crowd.

RE: First game of 2015 season
I was told that MSU gets 7,000 tickets as part of the deal to bring them to Waldo. I am sure that WMU is going to do special things to try to give WMU fans first chance at tickets but not sure what. I would like to see them offer season ticket holders first chance to buy extra tickets. Also, it will be interesting to see how the game or season tickets are priced.

I believe we're going to break the record of 36k+change, and Possibly get to 40k, filling the grass and stands full if it's a beautiful day/evening.

In fact, I think PJ Fleck is going to buckle down and possible bring out stadium expansion with his own bare hands!
